Folic acid 5 mg per day is sufficient. Avoid junk foods and oily stuff. Eat more of fruits and vegetables. Cooked tomatoes are also good for fertility.

High does folic acid of 5 mg is prescribed only in selected cases. Otherwise in completely normal pregnancy with normal obstetric history, 500 microgram of folic acid is enough and that also is mainly required in first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
