This high triglyceride requires aggressive measures for control and also to find out the cause of such high levels, whether there is any genetic predisposition to it. Secondly, in this case please do not self treat yourself, it will be best if you consult a cardiologist for detailed evaluation and also for guiding and monitoring your medical treatment. Treatment for sure will require starting with two lipid control drugs and if required addition of more. You should also follow all lifestyle meas...more

It has been proven that fenofibrate (Lipicard) doesn’t have any advantage over statins in reducing triglycerides levels and cardiovascular risk. Statins are better than fenofibrate. But I need to see your complete lipid profile report to advice you regarding the need for medicines. Normally it’s not required to start medicine for isolated elevated triglyceride level with normal LDL level, unless the TRiglyceride levels are very high > 400-500.

Yes better to avoid triglycerides medicines. Control with diet. Triglycerides are manufactured in liver from alcohol sugar jaggery and starchy foods. Decrease these in diet. Increase intake of traditionally healthy foods like yoghurt cheese nuts eggs butter etc to improve triglycerides and health. Best wishes.

Probably unwise to take medicines. Rosuvas is helpful in blockage patients after they fall sick. F is fenofibrate. It is required for people with triglycerides above 1200. Please post more information for further opinion.

When triglycerides are below one thousand, dietary treatment is better for health than fenofibrate treatment. Reduce items that are converted to triglycerides in liver, like sugar, alcohol, grains and other water soluble calories.

Alcohol sugar jaggery and starchy foods raise triglycerides. Eat a traditional, balanced diet, not the modern restricted diet. Try diet and exercise first, medicines later if needed. Please discuss on phone if you require specific instructions. Best wishes.
