A femur fracture usually takes around 20 - 24 weeks (5- 6 months) to completely unite. Depending on the fracture configuration your surgeon will instruct you about weight bearing.

Once the plaster is out, the orthopedic allows partial or full wt bearing on the affected limb depending upon th severity of the fracture and the type of surgery done. Also stretching and strengthening exercises are to be started as soon as possible. Kindly start physiotherapy at the earliest to avoid weakness and wasting.

If giant cell tumor is there then surgery is a standard treatment. There is no any specific thing we can do to prevent recurrence of the disease. You can do regular follow up with you doctor for early detection.

Dear lybrate-user, Calcium taken externally has no role in bone healing unless you have a very low calcium level and are osteoporotic, So if you have a normal calcium level which it seem you will have looking at your age, do not be fooled by any calcium brand, the time the fracture will take to unit is not going to be affected by it.

Yes, definitely there is medicine for it.
Take Lapis Alba 3C one dose daily for 2 weeks.
It should get softer first of all, then it will start getting reduced in its size.
Still if you don't get any result or not effective, please inform me.
I will help you further.
Take care. :)
