note some Calcium rich foods

1. Cheese

2. Yogurt

3. Milk

6. Fortified cereals such as Total, Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes (They have a lot of calcium in one serving.)



5. Dark leafy greens like spinach, kale, turnips, and collard greens

7. Fortified orange juice

8. Soybeans

9. Fortified soy milk (Not all soy milk is a good source of calcium, so it's best to check the label.)

Hi,
Basically both the medicines contain calcium and Vit D. But Supracal contains minerals like magnesium and zinc along with calcium and Vit D. If your requirement is only calcium, then the generic medicine can be taken.

Consider taking calcium supplements that have magnesium and vitamin d in it and also drink lemon juice or any citric juice which has vitamin c for better absorption of calcium.

Hi lybrate-user,
Consumption of Calcium and Vitamin D is one thing and their Bio- availablity is another. If you are exposed to sunlight for 20-25 minutes and consuming about 2 servings of milk products daily, but your Calcium and Vit. D levels are still low. Better you need to focus on your Magnesium reserves.
