I agree with you that medicines for anxiety are habit forming and should be avoided. reduce your weight by eating more of seasonal vegetables and fruits and reduce intake of salt and take more potassium through citrus fruits like oranges and lemon juice and water reduce stress and anxiety related issues with the help of yoga and meditation. walk around a bit but do more of arms stretching.

Dear Lybrate user...Propranolol is a beta blocker and is commonly used for migraine prophylaxis. Its recommended dose for migraine prophylaxis can be as high as 120 to 160 mg per day. Its normal action on heart is to decrease the heart rate, but at a dose of 80 mg it is less likely to cause a significant damage. Rest differs from patient to patient and the clinical decision has to be individualized. Take care

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
In hyperthyroidism patiients usually have severe palpitation, to reduce that proplanolol is used. It is not for high blood pressure in this situation. Thanks.

Hello. I am 25 years old living with my family currently preparing for postgraduation entrance exams. Even after little things (someone making a joke of me or saying hurtful things or fights), it takes me too long to come out of them. Sometimes there is outburst of anger after which immense guilt. I feel very low and demotivated. Mmmy concentration decreases and I feel like crying all the time. I don't feel like eating any food and sit inside my room only and my head aches constantly (k/c/o migraine. Previously taken prophylaxis propranolol 40 mg and amitriptyline 5 mg) it sticks to my mind in a way that I feel suicidal as well and feel like hanging on the fan. I have been getting episodes of anxiety for which I was prescribed etizolam in 2015 and I continue to take that on sos basis. Recently I was made fun of by my parents and I am in not feeling well for the past few days .is there anything that I can do.

And pls dnt focus on what others are talking about you just concentrate on your studies. Do not bother what others are talking about you. People keep on talking about others it's their habit
you should know your capabilities and go ahead for success.
