You should follow doctor's advice. If you are ever doubtful, go for a second opinion and clear your doubts. Doctors ill take a few weeks to determine what dose and medications suit you. when they reach that level, it is considered the optimum dose suitable for you and may retain you on that dosage until required. Even when weaning you off of your medication, they will reduce it gradually so that you don't have any adverse reaction. You have not been dealing with your fears for a long time, perha...more

You are taking these medicines under supervision of an expert so there is no such reason to worry. If you feel any of the symptoms you have mentioned above , then tell your doctor immediately so that he can adjust the dosage. People take medicines to manage their physical conditions like diabetes, heart problems etc. The important point is taking medicines under supervision . You can also start Psychotherapy and learn to manage your anxiety symptoms to a great extent.

There is nothing called better or inferior. All medications are tailored to an individual depending on the symptoms, response and tolerability. Over the Counter self medication and self medication by googling is dangerous to one's body and mind. Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine and can cause severe dependence and side effects on a longer run. Escitalopram ad Sertraline are SSRI's and need to be prescribed carefully adjusting/ titrating dosage by a psychiatrist. Hope this info helps.

Hello lybrate-user,
Both the salts have their pros and cons and it all depends on the patient's overall symptomatology when it comes of choosing one. None of them is outrightly superior over the other.
Please be warned that you must not take tale any of these without consulting a psychiatrist. Sometimes a wrong choice of drug or a wrong dose can lead to serious health problems and worsening of anxiety.
