I think it is not the medicine , it is the age of your father and his ailment which is against the desired effect of erythropoietin. his blood forming cells are not responding to produce fresh blood cells. at this stage , probably intermittent blood transfusions is the solution.

You are supposed to have low erythropoietin. Which is good for you since you already have high levels of heamoglobin. Erythropoietin is secreted from kidney. There are synthetic formulations available but usually used in chronic kidney disease whre epo levels are low.

Hello, Thanks for he query.
To reduce high creatinine it is essential to achieve a strict blood pressure control and if diabetes is present then blood glucose should also be controlled effectively.
Protein intake should be reduced to 0.6 g/kg per day. No non vegetarian food should be given. Excess physical activity should not be carried out.
Drinking plenty of water does help. But care should be taken that patient should not be having body swelling or high BP. Thanks.
