Dear lybrate-user, All these medications are either anti depressants or Anti Psychotics. Anti Depressants like some of them you are taking are given in OCD and anti psychotics are given as Augmenters in OCD also, I am not sure about the diagnosis of Schizo affective .I need more information to comment on it. In consistencies do occur in Psychiatric diagnosis and the tests reflect what you answer or respond which are interpreted. If you can share your entire history I may be able to help you.

Please give her following medicine:- Dr. Reckeweg's vita c - 15 / two teaspoon thrice a day for two weeks. Revert back after two weeks with feedback.

Yes it will definitely have an affect on functioning she need to take medicine regularly. Sizodon has risperidone in it. There are long acting risperidone injectables present which can be given once in a month. They are advisable in person who are not compliant with medication. You can discuss with your practitioner regarding shifting her to long acting injectable. Schizophrenia do have genetic overloading, but that doesn't mean their is 100% transmission. Thank you Nina for taking care of your friend. Serotonin syndrome is a rare side effect. However at the age of 74 years, it is better to go slowly to higher doses. Stop venizep and citadep. Let her continue with mirtaz, lonazep and sizodon ls for 2 more weeks before other antidepressants are added. But let her get her medical check ups done for puffiness of face and slurring of speech. It might not be serotonin syndrome, it may hormonal like hypothyroid or a neurological condition...more
