My brother is 24 years old and treated with head injury 3 years back. After injury he is suffering from fits or seizures and is given following medicines 1. Valrate 2. Adinep 3. Laconext 4. Epsolin 5. Gardenal .A month ago doctor recommended to do CT scan which results in fine report. Now I want that any of these medicines should be stopped as there are many side effects of these. Please guide in this regard.

Get mri brain epilepsy protocol. Post head inury seizures usually do not require si many medicines.

Usually it depends on the disease. Range-60-480 mg per day .but you should consult a neurologist before taking it. Stay safe.

My father is 68 years old n he has been suffering from epilepsy for last 20 yrs. Recently he has been showing many symptoms of epilepsy like not responding anything. Not able to express n body imbalance. We consulted his regular neurologist n he advised valparin 300 mg tab to be taken with other regular AED like Epsolin 100 mg 4 tab a day n phenobarbitone 60mg in morning n 90mg at night. Sir Presently i am taking EPTOIN 100MG*3=300MG after meal before sleeping.But due to the medicine my taste is very bad. I don't like anything to eat. Previously i was taking (LEVIFOL 500MG) morning & eveing daily for a week but my taste buds were even worse and i was not able to sit at a place. i used to feel like going out of home but after having eptoin my situation was better. my question to you is that my docter has adviced me again to take levifol500mg so according to you which medicine should i take keeping my situation in mind. Thank You!

You can take eptoin as long as your seizures are under control and you do not develop any adverse reactions to eptoin.

I am taking Eptoin tablets daily at 100 mg, 50 mg & 100 mg, for epilepsy. Now, can I take 2x50 mg in place of 100 mg dose (2 - 1 - 2 tab' 50 mg per day), thus I can stock one bottle of 50 mg pills instead of one each of 50 & 100 mg? It is Eptoin. I can't edit it in the first line.

You can take 2 x 50 mg in place of 100 mg dose and you can stock one bottle of 50 mg pills instead of one each of 50 & 100 mg

Green colour of urine could be due to high dose of b complex including folic acid. Don't worry about it. Avoid taking high dose of b complex tablets with folic acid.

Since last 13 years you are seizure free. So you do MRI brain and EEG. And If the reports are normal, then your anti seizure drugs should be tapered slowly and stopped.
