My daughter is 22 months old. She had suffered vomiting and diarrhea 16 days back. She had started with vomiting after any feed (even water), followed by diarrhea (loose motions) at least 15 times a day. She was just on ORS (no antibiotics given and only Oral ondansetron and Lansoprazole were given) and it stopped after 4-5 days. But she continued with foul smelling, pasty stools with a frequency of 5-6 till date.(i. E. After 16 Days). I don't know what to do?

She is unable to eat any solid or liquid food and is constantly vomiting every intake. After a visit at doctor she was prescribed folic acid as vitamin pills and emeset-4 mg (Ondansetron) for vomiting. Is it safe to take the emeset tablet. Will it have any immediate or after effects on the fetus? Thankyou.

I rush to nearby hospital where I got iv fluids with one injection of metronidazole and one injection of ofloxacin and pantop and ondansetron. Today I visited to my gynaecologist she said these injections are not safe during pregnancy. I am very tensed that can these injections harm by baby. My wife is pregnant via IVF. She has twins and 6 week pregnancy. She is suffering from severe nausea and vomiting, taking doxinate tablet BD but no improvement shown, ondansetron 4 mg bd also failed but granisetron 1 mg works well. I want to ask that taking granisetron in pregnancy is safe or not and how long can my wife take it and what is the exact dose? Please tell me. I am so much worried.

Granisetron s safe in pregnancy. It can be taken as long as nausea n vomiting is persistent. Exact dose 1 mg three times a day. But it can be taken as and when required as well maximum 3 times a day.

After returning from a outstation trip of 4 days, my daughter of 3yrs had vomtings, and I gave unidron (ondansetron oral solution) of 5ml at one night. The vomiting stopped and from the next day, she is refusing to have food. She is having 1 or 2 spoons and telling me, im getting vomiting, I dont want to eat. Im giving only that 2 or 3 spoons of rice, she doesnt vomit. If I forcibly try to feed her, shes behaving as if, she is yet to vomit. This is the situation from 3 to 4 days. Previously I dont have any problem with her food. If she feels hungry she used to ask me n eat. Now she dont want to eat. What should I do? She is not having food, so she is feeling low and she wants to sleep. What should I do?

I am 21 years old female under treatment for nausea ,vomiting, diarrhea from last 2 weeks. The prescribed medicine are metronidazole 400 mg 3 times, ciprofloxacin 500 mg 2 times, ranitidine 150 mg 2 times and Racecadotril (for 3 days 3 times a day), Ondansetron (3 times for 7 days). Now I am better with vomiting and diarrhea but I feel lot of gas inside my stomach unable to pass gas, only burps and sometime hiccups and I feel nausea/vomiting at night. My CBC, LFT ,KFT, Ultrasound test are normal. Ps - I have previous medical history, I am under treatment for my depression from the last 2 years. I am taking carbamazepine 200 mg two times a day and clonazepam 0.25 mg two times a day. Please tell me how much time it will take to recover. I am feeling very low just because of my nausea/ vomiting.

Sir/ma'm, my mom lost her appetite since last 40 days. Her ca-125 level was 1089 and usg revealed ascites. The cect done. But did not reveal so much. Then performed laparotomy and biopsy report and cell block preparation confirmed abdominal tuberculosis. She is taking akurit 4 tab, benadon,udiliv 200 and cobadex czs since 20 th june. But after 4/5 days starting of medicines she has severe vomiting. She can not eat anything. Anytime she has tendency to vomit. Doctor prescribed ondansetron inj and pantocid dsr tab. But she is not getting well. Today (4/7/2020) we have done lft and kft. Serum creatinine is 1, total bilirubin--5.1,sgot--333, sgpt--235, alp--270. Doctor advised on phone to stop all medicines except udiliv and cobadex. And to repeat lft after 7 days. Should I wait. Or I need to admit her in hospital? Are all parameters very high for her? Can they lead to death very soon (somebody told me that she will die within 3 days if not hospitalized)

lybrate-user, her ca-125 is on the higher side but iâm sure her treating physician must have ruled out everything including malignancy. For some patients, their liver enzymes can get deranged. The best thing is to stop the treatment until bilirubin comes back to normal. If she stable and you are very worried you can repeat her lft tomorrow a and send me the reports.

I was keen to reach out after going onto your website. (27 years old) and for the past 6 months i have been suffering from quite aggressive nausea. Over the past 6 weeks iv also began having frequent dull aches in my head. Initially it was on the left side of the head but iv have also experienced it today on the front side. In terms of tests i have had A colonoscopy Endoscopy MRI scan of brain and head And also been seen by the ENT Consultant all of which were unable to find anything. There have been some occasions where iv gone to a n e as the pressure has kept me from sleeping or has got quite severe. I was keen to reach out to see if you could shed any light as to what it could be? I have tried acupuncture and professional massages but they do not seem to help and i am getting quite worried as what to do next as its effecting my work. Below are a full list of my conditions: Nausea - 6 months Dull headache - 2 months Imbalance - 2/3 months fatigue/drowsiness 2/3 months dizziness 2 months. Loose stools 4 years+ (6 times a day) Any help on if you have seen anything like this or any next steps would be highly appreciated. I am seeing a neurologist but its in 3 months time and my symptoms seem to be getting a lot worse. I am taking ondansetron for my anti nausea and have tried other prescriptions in the past which haven't worked via my gp. I do not have any major stresses.
