Expectorants are of two types:
mucolytics: which thin out tenacious mucoid secretions in the airways
mucokinetics or “expectorants”: they help the clearance of mucus by making coughing easier
both should not be prescribed in dry cough as they are known to aggravate cough.
However, wet cough is due to the secretions in the airways and should never be suppressed. Mucokinetics are used in this case which makes coughing easier.

No drug should be taken without obstetrician' advice in pregnancy. Cetrzine is not a "sleeping" pill. So break your habit! through it is category B drug it is best avoided on 1 st trim.

Please get a skin prick allergy testing done to find out what you are allergic to and take treatment accordingly. Allegra and cetirizine are not the solution for allergy as they do not address the root cause.
