Vitamin deficiency anemia is a lack of healthy red blood cells caused by lower than normal amounts of certain vitamins. Vitamins linked to vitamin deficiency anemia include folate, vitamin b-12 and vitamin c. Vitamin b12 deficiency can happen if you have certain conditions, such as:
atrophic gastritis, in which your stomach lining has thinned,
pernicious anemia, which makes it hard for your body to absorb vitamin b12
and some other reason.
You may need a right medical advise before you start any medication without prescription.
Don't take injections. Never take injections. It is unnecessary pain.
Just start a good multivitamin tablet.
And taking B12 is not enough. Get proper treatment of the cause of low level of B12. Otherwise once you stop taking B12 it will again come back down if not taken proper treatment.
