About Eldospas Plus Tablet

Eldospas Plus Tablet is primarily used to treat muscle cramps caused during menstruation in women. Patients who suffer from colicky pain due to intestinal, biliary, ureteric colic and women having extreme menstrual pain can consume Eldospas Plus Tablet.

It is a composition of two medicine, Dicyclomine and Mefenamic Acid that helps by inhibiting sudden muscle contractions, to provide relief from cramps, pain, bloating and discomfort during menstruation.

Apart from this, Eldospas Plus Tablet is also helpful in managing pain associated due to any jerk or movement in intestine, gall duct and urinary tract. It relieves pain caused in women during menstrual cycle by relaxing the muscles of the stomach, thus reducing the symptoms of stomach cramping.

It is advisable that people with a history of glaucoma, enlarged prostate, high blood pressure, myasthenia gravis, liver, heart, kidney or thyroid problems consult a doctor before taking medicine. Furthermore, it is strictly advisable that pregnant women and breastfeeding women must not consume Eldospas Plus Tablet.

Eldospas Plus Tablet causes side effects like dizziness, dry eyes, weakness, blurred vision, bloating and dry mouth. Irregular heartbeat, decreased sexual ability, loss of coordination, improper functioning of bladder and slurred speech. Therefore, it is important that you take the Eldospas Plus Tablet only when prescribed and that too in accurate dosage.

    This medication is used to treat smooth muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract which occurs due to irritable bowel syndrome. It blocks the acetylcholine receptors present on the smooth muscles thereby causing the muscles to relax. It also controls excessive secretion from not only stomach but also from bronchial, tracheal and pharyngeal muscles.

        When interacted with alcohol, Eldospas Plus Tablet cause liver problems and internal bleeding in stomach and intestine. You must consult a doctor if you see blood in your stool, cough or vomit.
      • Interaction with Lab Test

        This medication may prolong prothrombin time. Therefore, when the drug is administered to patients receiving oral anticoagulant drugs, frequent monitoring of prothrombin time is necessary. A false-positive reaction for urinary bile, using the diazo tablet test, may result after mefenamic acid administration. If biliuria is suspected, other diagnostic procedures, such as the Harrison spot test, should be performed.

The tablet can severely react with medicines like methotrexate, tacrolimus, warfarin and ketorolac.
