There are effective medications to treat severe depression. ECT is an effective option, but if you are working it may lead to cognitive deficits. So make a wise choice. ECT as in patient would cost 5000 per administration, but you have to include the bed costs and hospital charges. It is given on alternate days for 5-7 times. So overall it might work out to about 70K to 1 lac for the entire treatment.

Definitely ketamine therapy is a hope along with all other add ons for treatment resistant depression. Ketamine can be given as infusion during a suicidal planning, as tablet or nasal spray at other times. The dosage is a critical factor since it is a new treatment.
