I am 33 years old. Two years ago, I was treated for tuberculosis in the testicle and I took treatment for 9 months consist of ifampicin 225 mg, isoniazid 150 mg, pyrazinamide 500 mg. Since then I suffered from skin allergies (ex. Itching, acne. Etc ), acidity, bloating and allot of gases of about two years. I became allergic to milk products and some foods such as legumes and nuts. I wonder if you have a successful treatment prescription for such a situation.

it is very unlikely that allergy of drug persists for so long and even after the treatment.
proper history with detailed clinical examination will help in arriving diagnosis and correct treatment.

Hi, I am using atroiza. Being tested positive for hiv 3 weeks ago. With the address I am also given winthrop isoniazid 300. What I want to know is, what other medication can I use to prevent liver and kidney damage as I read that those medication can cause problem on the long run. I got myself centre multi vitamins and viral choice immune booster which I taken in the mornings. Is there anything else I can use to prevent the liver and kidney damage on the long run.

You have to do laboratory test every 3 to 6 months and that s enough to prevent liver and kidney damage to change medicine as early as possible.

I am a 27 year old female who had tb of lymph node in aug 2018. After completing 6 months of treatment the doctor discontinued the treatment. I felt better also. Then in dec 2019 I was diagnosed with mdr tb with resistance to rifamycin and isoniazid. I am waiting for my culture sensitivity report. The medicines prescribed are causing nausea and vomiting. Please help me in guidance with the treatments time?

if its mdr tb, treatment will be for 18-24 months based on culture reports, please undergo a first line and second line lpa also
ask the doctor for antacids and antiemetics for acidity and nausea
start high protein diet with vitamin supplementation
ensure dose is as per your weight
regards.

Hello sir, my age 24 and my weight is approximately 50. I have lung infection tb initially, doctor gave me akt4 after taking it for 2 weeks I developed serious jaundice and after recovery from jaundice I have been given akt3 (there are 2 tablet or capsule, I don't know if it is rifampicin, ethabutelor, isoniazid) to cure it. I want to know how should I take akt3? In prescription there is mentioned one tablet or capsule per day but chemist sellers says that I should take both tablets per day. Please advise how should I take.

My father, aged 68, some 6 months back was diagnosed for Spine TB and he started on AKT4 for 2 months, AKT3 for the next month but had to stop due to vision loss and following 3 months was taking Rifampicin and Isoniazid. His vision is almost back with some eye power complaint but since last month he is complaining about arm pain near the shoulder joint. There is a slight muscular swelling possibly which we feel there. I read that Isoniazid can cause these side effects. What could be the reason and if it needs any urgent attention to treatment? FYI. He is taking 40 mg of pyridoxine, his blood work shows mild thrombocytopenia, haemoglobin = 11.4, platelet count=106, ESR has come down to 60, CRP has come down from 67 to 8.4. His back is almost gone.

Also recent blood report shows hemoglobin at 10.9. I read this could be due to Rifampicin. What could be the reason and if it needs any urgent attention to treatment? FYI. He is taking 40 mg of pyridoxine, his blood work shows platelet count=130, ESR 94, CRP has come down from 67 to 8.4, LFT results are normal, His back pain is almost gone. Other symptoms at this moment are slight numbness around feet, constipation and dizziness upon movement. Remarks of Hemogram: RBCs: Mild anisopoikilocytosis. Predominantly macrocytic normochromic with macroovalocytes. WBCs: Mild Leukopenia is present. Platelets: Appear mildly reduced in smear. Macroplatelets are seen. Sugar levels are normal 93/142 Blood pressure is bit low 75/115.

Arm pain is nothing to do with TB drugs. Haematological abnormality can be due to rifampicin, but not alrming to stop drug rifampicin.

Hello,I am from Mumbai. My wife was suffering from tuberculosis and treatment is taken for around 90 days but in between she showed symptom like negative vision. Dr immediately advised to stop tablets and further treatment in *jaslok hospital it confirmed that she has lost 70% of her vision and optic nerves were damaged. The next course of action to be done by me. May request you to go thru the same and help me to understand the same is recoverable and what is the next course of action to be done by me. While suffering from optic nerve: 1) what is the possibility of recovery of eye vision? 2) is their stability in eye vision we will think to come shankar netralaya chennai for the treatment after seeing valuable opinion.

I am suffering from tuberculosis from 1 year. After 6 months of treatment of tb I developed koch's lymphadenitis in neck. Then after I taken high dose of first line drug along with streptomycin for 2 month. But lymphadenitis got worsen (increase in size). Then we go for mdr tb test my Gene xpert shows low MTB, not resistance to rifampicin. And afb culture shows normal (no acid fast bacilli seen after 42 days. I am 2nd time tb patient first in 2008 (abdomen tb ). Now what should I do .i still have low grade fever and lymphadenitis. I am currently on r comes and ethambutol from 1 month and I discontinued this medicine for 1 month. Is this okay.

1. Although not entirely clear from the details provided, it seems that you still have TB lymphadenitis. 2. The resolution of the disease will mainly depend on the drug sensitivity, the type, dose and duration of anti-TB drugs and how compliant you are with the medications. 3. If you still aren't cured, something went wrong in one or more if the above mentioned factors. Please get yourself reviewed as soon as possible.

My brother have multiloculated pleural effusion and fever, loss of appetite taking att 11sep (akurit4). Patient conditions not improving since 28 Oct, LFT was done sgpt 745and sgot422 then AKURIT4 withdraw and give new regimen levofloxacin, ethambutol, streptomycin and amoxyclav till 17 nov, again LFT was done, LFT finding is normal. THEN again H/R/Z/E/S/Levofloxacin is again, LFT is done on2 dec sgpt 145and sgot72. During this period fever Pleural effusion, loss of appetite and weakness continue.

Having TB drug induced hepatitis. Need close watch, repeated LFT and drug adjustment by a pulmonologist Better avoid using levofloxacin as it is a second line TB drug.

Again.after 1 year I am taking cycloserine 500 mg ethambutol 800 mg pyrazinamide 1500 mg levofloxacin 500 mg ethionamide 500 ml cycloserine 500 mg kanamycin 750 ml daily I am both refamcin and isonazide resistance I want to know is this conventional 24 month course or new 12 month short regimen treatment I consult another doctor who. Is saying this is long time course.
