Drink plenty of water
Avoid spicy fatty oily food
Daily do running for 30 minutes
There are two strategies in this management.
* Changing diet and losing weight - Changing adverse life-style factors is an important part of treatment. Losing weight and reducing consumption of alcoholic drinks (particularly beer) and purine-rich foods (such as red meat, offal and dark fish, spinach, methi, fermented food) can all help to reduce uric acid levels. I am 37 years old male and suffering from high uric acid for the last 3 years. My height is 165 cm and weight is 70 kg. In 2017 I got 1st attack with severe pain in my right foot and swelling with uric acid level 10.8. I was on zyloric 100 1*3 for 1.5 months. Thereafter I got similar attack after every 6 months with uric acid level 9 and 9.5. Recently in may 2020 I got the most severe attack. I am on febutaz 40 for the past 3 months. But even I am on medication pain again started occurring in my foot after subsiding first. I am not taking high purine food as spinach tomatoes, paneer, red meat, egg, milk etc. I walk 30 minutes everyday. I am not understanding why my uric acid level is still increasing while I am on febutaz 40. My creatinine level is 1.13 and egfr is 90. My doctor has said that my kidney is ok although my cholesterol level is slightly high with level 201 and my triglyceride is 232 and my liver is very bmild fatty. please suggest.

Dear lybrate-user,
as you have developed symptomatic gouty arthritis with high uric acid levels it is likely that you have a genetic tendency for high uric acid levels.
You need to avoid nuts, wine and red meat and drink 3-4 litres of water every day. If in spite of dietary modification the problem persists you may have to adjust the dose of febutaz to optimize uric acid levels.

Sorry to learn that in spite of so many medicines your blood sugar levels are very high. You require consulting your doctor for a proper adjustment of your insulin dosages, The doctor may also think of changing the insulin
I notice your weight is on the higher side, hence you may ask your doctor about GPL-1 agonist which will not only help you to control diabetes but would be very helpful in reducing your weight. Unfortunately, these medicines are expensive
if you require any other help ...more
