Your BMI is 30.30kg/m2 which is showing you are obese. The ways to reduce weight are mainly two
1) reduce the food intake,
2) exercise and burn extra calories. There are drugs like orlistat tabs which does help in reduction of weight (about 6 kg in a year), but has certain side effects. Since you complain of knee pain, can try some stretching exercises and abdominals which do not put strain on knees. Also alternately join yoga classes learn asanas that help. Set a target of reducing 2 k...more

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
With TSH at 0.04 mU/L, you need to reduce the dosage by at least 25 mcg per day and then check it after 6 to 8 weeks. If the level is around 3 mU/L maintain that dose. Your other medications can continue. Thanks.

You should take Medical Nutrition Therapy course for three months to make your joints and cartilage stronger. Taking random supplements like Glucosamine and Calcium can be harmful and useless at times.
Moreover, as per recent research, Glucosamine is not better than Placebo.
Rather I would suggest you take Bone Broth daily which can be cooked at home.
For further Professional Diet Prescription & Nutraceuticals/Supplements contact me.
Good luck!

Regards Lybrate user. Pain in knee sometimes may not have to be from the knee as such. There are structures in hip or low back that may cause one to feel pain in the knee (without actually having pain in the knee). This may be ascertained by a thorough examination and evaluation. With the information provided, pain not occurring during walking, but sitting on floor or at night worsens it, the condition may be radiating from low back. You may consult an orthopaedician / orthopaedic physiotherapis...more

Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Stiffness have developed due to weakness of the ligaments & inflamed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee
