Hi, I went through c section 3 months back. After one month of post operation I got piles and because of fear of pain I was unable to pass the motion freely. But when ever there is an urge to pass stool, I used to stop and some amount of stool use to come out. It's been almost 1 month I haven't passed the motion properly. Recently there is a liquid stool leakage with blood and mucus. Piles are still there. The hard stool is unable to come out. So two days back I took duphalac. The next day morning I have passed some amount of stool. And the stool became somewhat soft. From then there is no liquid stool leaking. I want to empty my bowels completely, is it safe to take dulcolax suppository while having piles? And I am breastfeeding also. I have used this suppository before while I am not having any piles and fissure during last days of pregnancy. Please help me.

Hello. You are on the right track. Any bleeding with stools should be evaluated and you jave rightly gone for a colonoscopy.
Regarding grade 3 piles, conservative management may cause some relief, but usually surgery is needed at some point of time. You continue with dobesil and duphalac for two weeks more. But if bleeding continues then better to get an intervention done.
Either a laser hemorrhoidoplasty, or a stapled hemorrhoidopexy or a conventional hemorrhoidectomy.

1. Take home cooked, fresh light food. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 2. Increasing the fibre in your diet is known to be as effective as injections for preventing further problems
3. Increasing your fluid intake which can help prevent further problems with haemorrhoids
4. Avoiding straining and constipation which is the most useful thing patients can do to prevent the problem coming back. If the fibre content of your diet is not sufficient to keep your stools soft, then a fibre...more
