Happy to know that the enema helped as advised. Unless contraindicated, a high fibre diet, plenty of liquids, abdominal massage and physical activity can prevent further constipation. She is on omnacortil which may bw causing tge constipation.
Please consult, as I can advise an appropriate laxative for a few days, based on an evaluatuon. I can also advise the right diet and exercise (needs to be customized as patient seems to be having heart/ respiratory issues).

Those medicines are meant to soften your stool. There will be no adverse effect of stopping the medicines but your constipation will go back to as it was before. Alternative treatment plan may be suggested over an one-to-one consult.

It could be some dietary factor which is causing constipation. I hope anal fissure has been ruled out because it leads to an automatic restraint in the patient towards passing stool. If she could get in touch with me I will like to take all details and then advise appropriately.
