Strictly speaking, diabetic should avoid alcohol completely. But if you insist on taking it, ensure that your blood sugars and all other parameters are normal. Then, you may take one 30 ml drink of hard liquor (usually containing around 45% alcohol) per day. However, if you are on Insulin, avoid alcohol.
