Asked for male, 40 years old from Anantapur

Dysthymia, anxiety, insomnia last 20 years. Doctor prescribed me tab d veniz 50, tab tofisofam 50, tab melatonin 5 mg. I have also prediabetes, (fasting blood sugar 100, post prandial 160) grade 2 fatty liver. Can I take desvenlafaxine, tofisofam any raise blood sugar lever these medicines. Sertraline loose stool, escitalopram loose stool, fluoxetine loose stool, paroxetine more lethargy, mirtaz more sedation, duloxetine also taken for 1 year I got a blood sugar, tab venlafaxine also taken which is best for me sir/ madam. Now I am taking fluoxetine 40, inderal 40, clonazepam 0.25.

Yes, you can take. There is less likelihood of causing diarrhoea and would be effective for you, especially when venlafaxine worked well for you. The combination won't be having any adverse effect on your blood sugar level.

I have been suffering depression for last 10 years. Present time problems are - Bach ache ; leg ache ; sleep disorder (late night sleeping and in day oversleeping) fatigue (without any reason) ; weakness (without any reason); stress and anxiety (without any reason) ; no interest in many things ; poor memory ; lack of concentration ; no interest in study ; lack of happiness. At the advise of doctor I have taken many medicine like as tryptomer ; thyoril ; mirazep; citalopram; escitalopram; duloxetine; fluoxetine and many more. I got improvement by paroxetine and clonazepam. But not cure.

You are into an anger-related depression and need the assistance of a counselor too. This I am sure you have not tried and that is why there is so much trouble coming out of the depression. I am 67 years old and was working after retirement also till a few months ago. Immediately after retirement I started feeling some sort of anxiety and depression for which I consulted a psychologist who suggested to do blood test and after that prescribed thyronorm50 tablet for sometime and some sleeping tablets since I was having sleep disturbance also at that time. Since there was no relief after 3 months ,I contacted him again and he referred me to a psychiatrist who prescribed Nitravet 10 and Symbal20 which I started taking and the things improved and as per the Doctors advice I withdrew it slowly. For next 6 months I was O.K but again started having the same symptoms. So I consulted the Doctor who advised me to start taking the medicine again which I did. This process is going on for the last 7 years and kindly advise me a permanent solution for withdrawing the medicines and live a normal life. I was having sleep disorders and I am continuing it for the last 7 years eventhough in between we stopped the other medicine except Thyronorm which is now increased to 75 mg after seeing the 6 monthly blood tests. Kindly advice.

The psychologist who prescribed medications is a quack, he has no business prescribing thyronorm and sleeping bills, report him to the authorities. You might be having chronic depression, follow your psychiatrist advise, and if needed meet a clinical psychologist with rci (rehabilitation council of india) registration for counselling.

Hi, I am 33 years old and I was suffered with viral conjunctivitis in Feb'17. Post that I suffered from Keratitis in bot eyes for which I was given immunosuppressant eye drops and Tacrolimus eye gel and it took six months to get it cured. However, since then I started having muscle twitching in different parts of the body and used to have pressure on the head which starts from temporal region and follows from center of the head to other temporal. Now, from last 2 months, I am having pains in my heels and fingers and my fingers goes numb in night and NCV test has shown that I have nerve damage in motor nerves. All my blood tests have come normal. I underwent MRI of brain in june17 and that was normal too. Can you please advise what is the cause of these Nerve Damage. Currently I am being given medicines as :- 1. Pregabalin 75 2. Duvanta 20 mg 3. Shelcal CT 4. Insumin plus 5. Omega 3.

Sir I am not taking any medicine no from past 6 month Dr. prescribe me trazine s tablet for mood disorder it was scary and horrible feeling like sleeping for about 24 hour even during work and my parent scolded me why you always sleep for not wake up I slept till 11 am and many story so I stop that trazine tablet. After that I wake up early and I can do daily routine till now without any medication and I have another story for another doctor before she prescribe me duvanta 30 mg twice daily during that I was very very happy and I am very active. And my parent says I am very aggressive then my parent took me to another psychiatrist he prescribe me trazine then my life change to very bad condition. Let come to my point now that I feel like I want to take medicine to make me happy and little bit unrest feeling now I take tobacco and coffee daily like 4 times a day what I should do sir please help me sir I cannot write more thank you sir and my weight is reduce from past 3 month I am in control.

Hi,
based on the information provided by you, it appears that you have a mood disorder, probably bipolar disorder. Trazine is probably not the right medicine for you. It's in your best interest if you consult a nearby psychiatrist in-person & discuss about starting mood stabiliser which would be most appropriate medicine for you if the diagnosis of bipolar disorder is confirmed by him/her.

I have been on antidepressants for past 11 years for anxiety disorder. I was on escitalopram for last 3 years and it stopped working. My current psychiatrist started me on buspirone, clomipramine, fluvoxamine and clonazepam. I got some improvement and reached the doses buspirone 10 mg 1-0-1, fluvoxamine 100 mg 1-0-1, clomipramine 75 mg 0-0-1 and clonazepam 0.25 1-0-1 I was having intolerable side effects and I missed one dose of clomipramine and problems started again. I told my psychiatrist that only escitalopram and duloxine had worked for me. Then he stopped buspirone and clomipramine and reduced fluvoxamine dose to 100 mg once and started escitalopram at 20 mg directly and duloxetine 20 mg two times and clonazepam 0.25 3 times. I am having a weird mood and not able to control my negative thoughts after that switch. Was it a correct method to stop 2 medicines abruptly and starting 2 other meds at high doses?

It will take some time to get relief from symptoms which you are currently going through. After 1 week if still you r having the same problem then need to consult with the Dr. & let him know about your current symptoms.

I have been suffering from generalized anxiety disorder from the age of 14 since 2002. My father suffered a heart attack and was admitted to icu. I was in a movie theatre watching a movie and was brought to hospital to see him. That incident triggered my anxiety disorder. The burning sensation / butterflies in the stomach will not go away. That makes my mood worse and impair cognitive functions. Studies and exams became nightmare for me due to this problem. I was treated by a clinical psychologist initially. He trained me progressive muscle relaxation and guided imagery. I did that with some success but my problem worsened and another clinical psychologist trained me deep relaxation with jpmr and diaphragmatic breathing. But my problem never went away and I continued with my studies somehow. Completed 12th and joined b.tech. But I could not pass b.tech papers. The doctor I was seeing was against psychiatric medications and my parents were also not interested in that. In 2011 due to some personal issues my problem worsened and I decided to see a psychiatrist. He prescribed me escitalopram and when it started working I saw a huge improvement. I cleared all my back papers. Then I joined a job and I did pg in mechanical engineering. When I tried to stop medication, the problems came back with a vengeance also the same medicine will not work. Doctors tried different medicines to find the one that works. Also psychiatrists did not advise any psychological therapy. escitalopram worked again and I felt better again. I got married and was leading a good family life. But the medicine stops working sometimes and I am helpless when they do and the symptoms return. Psychiatrists have tried ssri like escitalopram, sertraline, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, snris like venlafaxine, desvenlafaxine, duloxetine, then other meds like benzodiazepines, buspirone, propranolol, quetiapine, amisurplide etc. I tried even ketamine infusion and that made me feel worse. The only medicines that worked for me are escitalopram and duloxetine. But in those duloxetine stops working very soon and escitalopram stops working in 2-3 years. Now I am in a situation where escitalopram has stopped working. Is there any way to make it work again or any better medicines out there? I have heard stories of people who are on antidepressants on for a very long time. But I am not able to go past 3 year with relapse. I need serious help to live without this problem affecting my life. What should I do to go on antidepressants for a long time with out relapse? I have not tried therapies like cbt, mindfulness, act etc will I be able to manage my problem with psychological interventions like those? All my bad feelings come from my gut area. Is there any underlying biological reason for my disorder? I am willing to spend all my money to recover from this problem. I am inviting suggestions from all the experts in Lybrate who could help me recover from this debilitating problem.

My father 74 year of age suffered with anxiety and depression. I consulted doctor a (neurologist: he prescribed – serlift 100 mg (1 time, zapiz 0.25 (3 time) but no improvement taking it for 12 days. Then I consulted doctor b (physiatrist: he prescribed – serenace 0.25 (1 time, dimip 10 (1 time, trazonil 0.25 (1 time), f-thikol 0.5 (1 clonotril 0.25 (sos) time) .we see improvement from day 1 and got almost well .after 1.5 month doctor stopped serenace 0.25 and trazonil 0.25 but anxiety came back. Then I consulted doctor c (physiatrist: he prescribed - symbal 30 (1, trazonil 50 (1, etizola beta 25 (2, clonotril 0.25 (sos) and cbt (1 time) but no improvement .my father took this medicine for 15 days and he got more week. Then I went back to doctor b and he gave same medicine and after 4-5 days my father has 60% improvement. Please suggest me what to do. Doctor c says medicine of doctor b is obsolete and doctor b says medicine of doctor c is high drug. I want to know if the current treatment is fine ?and how long we should take this medicine?

Hi read your query. There are many factors which might not be letting the problem cure. Through medicine one can cure the symptom for some time, but whenever the patient come in vulnerable situations problem arises. So for better results combine CBT as a part of treatment.

Dysthymia, chronic anxiety neurosis (panic), chronic insomnia suffering from 21 years. 10 days back doctor prescribed me serta 50, bupran150 mg, arip10 mg, clonotril 0.5 mg, tryptomer25 mg. Now from 10 days no interest in sex, erectile dysfunction due to serta. I am afraid of bupran150 because I have monthly twice take 180 ml brandy. Is seizure, liver damage with bupran? Can skip the bupran? Is bupron taking take alcohol monthly twice? Even arip10 mg, clonotril, tryptomer, I have no very well sleep. Mirtaz is more sedation. escitalopram side effect me loose stool, stomach upset. venlafaxine, paroxetine no sexual feelings, I take duloxetine, olanzapine, divalproex 500. So now I am diabetes, grade 2 fatty liver. So duloxi discontinued. So doctor prescribe serta, bupran, arip, tryptomer. Sir/ madam can I take vortixitine instead of serta, bupran. Is it is very effective other than ssri, snri I mean serta, bupran. Can I take zyprosyn instead of arip. I have no very well sleep these medications.

I am 39 male. I am suffering from chronic depression, anxiety's neurosis+ soft mania. Last 18 years. I used some scars, snris .due to side effects I discontinued. I have also l5_s1 slliped disc and overactive bladder. But now no back pain .when heavy work back pain will be appear. 15 days back I consult psychiatrist he gave me morning tab duloxetine 20, night divalproex500, oleanz 2.5 mg for 15 days. I taken these medicines. After 15 days consult same doctor and told to him I am sleeping problem, snoring,no freshness after sleeping and disturbance sleep. He gave me morning tab modalert100 mg, night divalex 500 mg, oleanz 2.5 mg. My doubt is how to reduce my major depression and anxiety neurosis without scars, ndris. Is modafinil effect in major depression and anxiety neurosis. please advise any medication for my problem. Can I take modalert for my depression laziness.
