Basically the pain lasts averagly for 3 to 4 months. you can consider physiotherapy. Also don't take ultracet too much. You can consider tablet dolonex dt. It's safe.

The key may have injured the gum which may be infected. You need an antibiotic and pain killer. Have cifran ct and dolonex dt- both twice a day for 3 days after food.

Consult an oral maxillofacial surgeon, but as far of now you can apply piroxicam gel on the area on the face in front of the ears twice daily. Also do some moist heat fomenation over the jaws by putting towel in lukewarm water ,squeezing it and applying moist heat over the jaws.

It is good to know that your blood sugar is in control. I am sure you are aware, when in control fasting blood glucose should be near 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg/100 ml and hba1c%<6.8. If glucose levels are higher than these then control is not considered good, plus it increases the chances of long term complications. As regards taking a" pain killer" you have not mentioned which one is being taken. Any pain killer is bad for the kidneys if taken regularly and for long time. But some are more harmf...more
