Dear Lybrate User
Vitamin D is required for proper absorption of Calcium apart from numerous other functions. If your Vitamind D levels fall below 30 you may ask a doctor and get a Vitamin D supplement prescribed. You can safely supplement your diet with Vitamin D, include lots of vitamin D rich foods e.g. Mushrooms, tofu. Apart from having vitamin D rich foods also get ample exposure to sunlight.

Yes, it is possible to have a deficit in Vitamin D3 but have the right level of calcium. Vitamin D3 is not the only precursor to calcium, as calcium is obtained from other sources like milk, fish, egg yolks etc. Hence it doesn't necessarily have a huge effect on calcium levels. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a Positive feedback as it helps me with my Practice. Thank you.
