The treatment of lichen planus needs to managed on patient to patient basis. The treatment of lichen planus depends on multiple factors like- severity of disease, progressive or not, involvement of oral cavity, nail or scalp. Again, response to treatment varies from person to person, according to which the treatment can be adjusted or stepped up. If the creams are not working, discuss the possibility of adding oral medications with the treating dermatologist.

Tenovate is a strong topical steroid. Please don't use it without proper medical advice, it will lead to a lot of side effects like boils which you are currently facing. I would recommend you to either share your clinical pictures here or show to a qualified dermatologist near you for proper treatment.

It can cause a lot of side effects to the applied area especially when applied constantly and for the wrong reasons, for months.
