Hello, In 2015, I was addicted of capsule codeine weed alcohol and in 2016 I was suffering from insomnia. I went to psychiatrist and he said that you are suffering from bipolar disorder in 2016. I was taking continue medicines at that moment. I was taking only two medicines. Those names were dilpra od 750 and lurasid 40. Their salt's names were lurasidone hcl. The problem still continues. I am not able to sleep at night. In fact during the afternoon and also suffering from erectile dysfunction. Please help me what can I do and How many times do I need to cure this problem. The problem of erectile dysfunction I did not discuss with my psychiatrist because I am a very shy person.

you are said you are taking medicines.
Yes.

Health Query

Developed signs of early morning wakening with a feeling of heavy heart in 2014. Ignored for a year or so. Then the problem started worsening with more heavy heart with loud pounding beats very early in the morning. Then I failed depressed or sad/ worried during day time also at times. Consulted a psychiatrist in 4/2014 who prescribed cipralex. After 4 months he added lamitor 100. Felt some improvement gor 3/4 months and stopped cipralex of my own. The state of depression recurred back and went on to lamitor 200 but no improvement. In november 2017 consulted another psychiatrist who changed the medicine and prescribed paroxetine12. 5, divalproex 250 and mirtazapine15. Felt improvement after few days. Stopped divalproex after 3 months. Then tapered paroxetine and finally stopped in april 2018. I was feeling good now. But unfortunately the condition hit back in early august this year. Now I have started paroxetine 12.5 with clonazepam .5 and continued mirtazapine15. Though I have again felt some relief but I always wake up with heavy heart and worried. During day time also I get sad or anxious at times. please suggest. Further I have elevated Triglyceride level about 500 which I heard is due to mirtazapine. Is there any alternative for that. I am also hypertensive taking amlodipine5 from last 6 years.

My brother used to take cannabis (marijuana) hash and weeds, and he suddenly withdrawn it and after a week started showing psychosis symptoms which led him to not able to sleep for five days, continuously, only an hour day for these five days, after that I consulted a psychiatrist, he gave few medications, but I am not satisfied with the dose as he prescribed DIVAA OD 1GM, can this be cured without any medication and only with psycho treatment by improving the surroundings? I got him to a trip to lucknow and he got refreshed and recovered fully and when I shown his videos what he was doing during attack he was laughing and suddenly after 5 days of full recovery again a psychosis attack? What to do? Please help me.

Actually the duration of earlier drug addiction it takes long time and it is a gradual recovery he should be kept under long supervisions. It might have been recurring. Hence it is better to take the help of of the rehabilatation doctor. For further management.

Hi Sir, I am a 30 years old male. 2 years back I was diagnosed with Cerebral Sinus Venous Thrombosis (CSVT). After 1 year of treatment with anticoagulant (acitrom) and homochek (for increased homocysteine levels), I stopped the medicines on my own. Recently I am having pulsating headaches and a feeling of nausea. My neurologist prescribed Divaa OD 500 with mortimer and Napra D for 10 days, saying that the symptoms are related to vascular headache. Do my symptoms shows a risk of CSVT again? If not, are the above mentioned medicines ok to be prescribed for Vascular Headache?

Hi, My father is dementia patient and suffering from this disease last 3 years. Always facing issue with sleep and restless the complete night. Right now his doctor prescribed for Phenergan 10 mg, Ativan 2 Mg, sizodon 0.5 mg, Admenta 10 mg, qutipin 100 mg, Aricep SR 23 mg, Rivamer 3 mg & Divaa OD 250 mg in night however there is no improvement in sleep. Now again today doctor advised to add Zolfresh 5 mg. Can you please help with medicine which can help my father to fall asleep and reduce restless issue too.

Dear Manjeet,
It is really pathetic to see your father suffering like this.
However your doctor seems to be trying few medicines to make him peaceful and sleep better. Be patient and wait for the drugs to work.
Since he is already dementing, he does not need much sleep. As age advances, one needs less time for sleep.
A bright light like day time and warmth will help sometimes - worth trying.

Hi. Madam better not to take isotretinoin when you are already suffering from depression. Try to get acne treated by application of creams and chemical peels. There may be interactions between these drugs.
