If you take 30 tablets of digoxin mixed in a solution you will get irregular heart beat and and heart beats will vary and you can lose consciousness

I am 51-year-old patient with a 10-year history of hiv. I am on lopinavir+ritonavir +lamivudine+zidovudine tablets along with ayurvedic medicine. I am also on cardiac medicine for enlargement of heart, which are lesilactone, digoxin and ecosprin. Presently my viral load is at undetected level and cd4 is 266 I am having chronic back pain in lumbar region and coccyx, which typically subsides with use elemental iron. I request you to kindly help me to diagnose this and suggest me treatment ?

I am 65 year old female. I was replaced with prosthetic mitral valve in 1990. I am on warfarin/a intron since then and monitoring INR monthly for adjustment of warfarin/ acitrom. Since last about 4 years I on Acitrom 2 mg daily. I was operated for subdural clot in brain due to fall while walking and was operated for its removal in 2000. I am taking metolar 50mg daily on that account. I am also taking digoxin 1/2 daily. I am now advised to go for cataract operation by eye surgeon in right eye. Is there any risk for the cataract removal surgery. What precaution are required during surgery. Any special advice for cataract surgery.

todays cataract surgery is predominantly blood-less so there is hardly any chance of bleeding as surgery is usually performed using anaesthetic drops and without any injection. only thing that you need to take care is have a proper physician checkup before you plan surgery and have a anaesthetic standby rest no other special advice

Colchicine, pantop and digoxin can often be stopped and used intermittently. Others must not be stopped without medical supervision. Substitutes of losar are often preferred in this problem.

They had heart attack 2 year before and we checked his recently taken echography test report then we found ejection fraction is 35-40%. Please advice me how can increase EF % for normal heart pumping.

There is no real way to increase the ejection fraction which has gone lower due to the heart muscle damage suffered in heart attack. You have to live healthy lifestyle and relax, Regular check up is needed.

You need to see a cardiologist. you have not elaborated your problems clearly. Might b gynecomastia related to digoxin if you r taking this drug. Severe mitral stenosis can b treated effectively depending on d nature of valve affection either by open surgery or closed heart procedure. Consult as early as possible.

Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), prescribed for people with painful rheumatic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet works by blocking the effect of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes which make chemical prostaglandins at sites of injury or damage, causing pain, swelling and inflammation. It eases pain and reduces inflammation. This medicine should not be given during pregnancy or to mothers that are breastfeeding. Is not recommended for children. This drug is available in tablet form and is taken orally. Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet has side effects including diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, constipation, vomiting, skin rashes etc. If the side effects are severe or persistent it is advisable to consult your doctor. You should not be taking Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet if – You are allergic to Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet or other anti-inflammatory pain killers. You ever had a problem with stomach or duodenal bleeding, such as an ulcer. You have a heart condition or impaired kidney or liver function. You are pregnant of breastfeeding a baby. You have high blood pressure or blood clotting problems. Alcohol should not be consumed with this medicine. Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet interacts with certain other medicines like lithium, digoxin, corticosteroids and antihypertensives and certain diseases like asthma, gastro-intestinal toxicity. The usual dose for Ace Proxyvon Sp Tablet is 100 mg tablet taken twice daily, preferably in the morning and evening. It can be taken with food or after food. Drinking an adequate amount of water minimises chances of indigestion and stomach irritations. The duration and amount of medicine should be followed as per the doctor’s prescription.
