No, for conditions like what you described, sandalwood paste or turmeric paste will not help, first the diagnosis must be made, only then treatment can be decided. Cortisone cream should not be applied unless dermatologist has prescribed.

I presume he underwent prostate surgery for benign enlargement and cancer was detected incidentally. Hopefully an MRI and bone scan was done for staging to confirm that its a localised disease. We advise watchful waiting or active surveillance for those with localised, early stage and low risk disease or intermediate risk disease in patients with very high comorbidities, reducing the life expectancy of <10 years.

Looking at the details I suggest you should shift to long acting basal analogue insulin like injection basalog, start with 6 units once a day and increase the dose based on daily blood sugar levels. You will have to do self monitoring of sugar levels. One of the oral medications namely metformin with glimepiride to be continued.
