Hi lybrate-user
Just make sure that the diagnosis of PCOS is right. You need to have irregular periods with signs of excess androgens (like facial and body hair growth, hair loss over scalp, skin darkening at neck, excess pimples) and ultrasound showing ovaries with more than 12 follicles, and increased in volume. If the diagnosis is rightly made. Do give some time. Metformin will help. It's not that women with PCOS do not get pregnant. Do consult if you have any doubts.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
It is difficult give a clear answer whether a SGLT - 2 Inhibitor can be added to existing therapy withput knowing full details of the case. I need to know the following: Fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, weight, height, serum creatinine & urea levels, eGFR and whethe there is microalbuminura. If kidney function is compromised or eGFR is low, then certain drugs can not be sude including metformin and SGLT-2 Inhibitors. Thanks.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query.
Fruits can be eaten by a diabetic person. But it is essential to achieve a strict glucose control. Ideally fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <7. All fruits can be taken, but in a limited quantity. Sweets are best avoided, because they increase the blood glucose almost immediately. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
When one takes adequate dosage of drugs, plus follows a strictly controlled diet and does regular exercise, blood glucose does get controlled. Therefore, it appears your present treatment is not proper. I need to know following things for giving any suggestions: fasting & PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, present dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Looking at your weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 28.23 kgs/Sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/S...more

Depends on the grade. Acne or pimples. Due to hormonal changes. Oily skin causes it. Common in adolescent age. May occur in adults also. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it. Treatment depends on the grade of pimples or acne. So, please send photos by direct online consultation as it's a must to see which grade of pimples or acne for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

As a rule diabetic medicine should not be taken by a normal person. Intake of Metformin by a normal person can result in low body sugar or even fainting. Kindly do not do such experiments with your body. If you want to reduce weight, then change your food habits and lifestyle. Your body is already stressed due to excess weight and now this unwanted medicine will create more problems instead of solving any. Please avoid such dangerous experiments.
