Hi!
Even though you are not going to sun, SUNSCREEN is important as artificial sources of light like computer screen, tube lights etc can emit UVB radiation and cause tanning .One more important thing is , tretinoin is retinoid cream which causes exfoliation of skin ,so sunscreen is a must and should .

Stop applying it first thing, allow sunlight exposure and try and rejuvenate skin with oil or vaseline applications. Give it at least 1-2 years time.

Melasma is not simple condition to treat because some patients do not respond to treatment significantly and some who get cured completely come back with recurrence.

Having said that I feel Ban-a-Tan cream by curatio is one of the safest and most effective creams I find for long term treatment of Melasma.
In most cases we do give oral treatment also for Melasma improvement from inside but that medicine can only be given on prescription after detailed history.
