Unfortunately, there's currently no cure for degenerative disc disease, and once you're diagnosed with DDD, it's typically a lifelong journey of learning to live with back pain, neck pain, or other symptoms. Once your discs begin to degenerate, you can't really reverse the process.

Good Evening Doctor. I'm 66 yrs. Dr. after suffering TIA stroke 3 years back and last April gain I felt slightly 2nd effect of TIA Stroke effect. After which I started feeling even more weak. Every 15 days I use to see new small problems and Dr. went on giving various medicines. I even started physiotherapy as I have no strength in my hands and legs. But these new medication was not helping me. So as 2nd opinion I consulted another GP doctor and he told me that I'm taking too many medicines and that's making me weak and asked me to stop all those and just stick to my regular medicines Eltroxin 25 mcg for thyroid, Telma 20 mg for BP only when BP shows more than 140 /90 otherwise told Telma 20 not needed, Calaptin 40 mg morning, deplatt A 75 mg for Afternoon after lunch and Avas 5 mg and Calaptin 40 mg after dinner. So I'm just taking these regular medicines and stopped the rest. Now for strength this specialist Doctor advised me to take 1 injection of Arachitol 6lakh and asked to take Vitcofol 2 cc injection alternate days 5 doses and Nurokind capsule for 1 month twice a day. So today was my last Vitcofol 2 cc 5th dose of injection. I'm feeling some strength in body and happy. But since I started this injection and Nurokind capsule I'm feeling a kind of stomach twisting and vomiting feeling I'm not feeling hungry always feeling full. I'm not getting vomit but feeling like that. Doctor I request you to please help me? Do you think that stomach twisting and vomiting sensation was due to these injection and Nurokind capsule Or else do you think any other serious health issue has come? Doctor I got all my tests, ECG everything done and all are normal. So why now I'm feeling this stomach twisting and vomiting like feeling? Please advise. Thanking you

MRI report is showing multiple osteoporotic vertebral fractures She should get investigated for bone mineral density testing and may benefit from bone formative agents like teriparatide
If pain is more than months then we have to analyse the symptomatic fracture among all the vertbral fractures and proceed with The bone augmentation procedures.

Degenerative Disc disease or DDD is a degeneration of the intervertebral discs in your spine. It s not a disease as such but a sign of ageing of your spine. We know that our vertebral column is made up of vertebrae and these are strung together, so to speak, using discs to allow movement. The discs play an extremely vital role in the functioning of the vertebral column by cushioning the vertebrae and stopping them rubbing together which will narrow the spinal canal and impinge on the nerves and ...more

It is important for you to know about degenerative disc disease (DDD) and spondylosis. Spondylosis is an umbrella term for spine pain, which occurs because of degenerative conditions. Spondylosis refers to several conditions. They include spinal stenosis, which is the abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal, leading to leg pain, degeneration due to DDD and degenerative arthritis or osteoarthritis involving the spine. It may also include cervical osteoarthritis or neck arthritis.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Lifting heavy weights or running marathons might not be a good idea if you have significant disc degeneration or many ddd symptoms. Instead, your goal should be regular, moderate exercise, which will help strengthen your muscles, bones, and joints.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a treatment plan for you.

For vitamin d levels as low as 4, I would suggest arachitol injection of 6 lac units taken once every 15 days for 3 cycles. Follow up with the satchet later on. Also take diet consisting of ragi, fruits, milk and milk products. Add some regular exercise.
