Yes, you can continue under the supervision of a psychiatrist to monitor the effects, side effects and also to start psychotherapy (counseling for your son, family, cbt, coping skills, relaxation techniques) if its not yet started, combination of medication and psychotherapy work better.

Hi, here are a few tips that will help you:-
exercise 40-45 minutes 4-5 times a week.
Eat small frequent meals every 2 -3 hours
eat protein rich diet (especially post workout, it will help in building muscle) and improve metabolism.
Eat proper breakfast, as 40% of day's energy comes from breakfast.
Include healthy fat in your diet like nuts - almonds and walnuts, seeds like pumpkin, watermelon, sunflower seeds, etc.

Hi. Bipolar disorder has a relapsing remitting course. Every individual is different so frequency of mood episodes are also different in every individual. Medicines both terminate the mood episode as welll as it prevent the further recurrence. Keep in touch with your doctor he will adjust your medicines as per your status.

Do not stop without psychiatrist advise. As Bipolar disorder is an episodic one and the medications help to prevent and reduce the severity of episodes if it occurs. But compared to olimelt there are better medications to control your mood symptoms, so you need to consult your psychiatrist for the same.
