It could be ocd but I am not sure as I have not talked to your friend.
She can recover or get out of this state by counseling and some medication.
But for that more information is needed.
One more thing I would like to add, by looking your concern for her I would suggest you to consult a doctor soon otherwise she will convert in an hope-less case. Will land in state of depression and will be on sleeping pills by the life.
