According to one study, it can also relieve coughs more effectively than over-the-counter medicines that contain dextromethorphan (DM), a cough suppressant. You can create your own remedy at home by mixing up to two teaspoons of honey with herbal tea or warm water and lemon.

Cough suppressants, like dextromethorphan, can provide relief for a short time. They work on the part of your brain that controls the process.
Expectorants, like guaifenesin, can break up congestion in your chest by thinning the mucus in your airways. This way, when you do cough, you can get rid of phlegm more easily.

Since pregnancy is a very delicate state, we can say that no drug is 100 percent safe for all women. We have to be careful with any drug, even with over-the-counter medication or OTC drugs. The best thing to do is consult your GP or obstetrician. They both know your health situation and can recommend what will work best for you. Do not take more than the prescribed dose and better avoid taking any medication at all during the first trimester. This is the time when the fetus is most vulnerable.more

so don't use extra paracetamol or colpol. it might brcome overdosage.
usually 10 months child needs medications in the form of drops than syrups
pls consult nearest pediatritian for better care and get clarification about all dosages and medications. don't self medicate kids.
