Cramping and bleeding occurs. And 3 clots of approx 1 inch large Brown color and tissue with bloods come out after taking up to 3 days after misoprostol. But now no bleeding. Today is 7 days from last day I took miso. And cramping occurring after 2 days break. Is it a sign of incomplete abortion or terminated? Tell me asap.

Get a trans abdominal scan done to see whether uterine cavity still has products of conception. Do a ser. Bhcg. If it is less than 100 iu, you can wait. If it increases after 3 dys, d&e required. Always exclude molar gestation by hpr.

Misoprost is painful. It is better that you use an effective contraception next time. No other methods are currently available for medical abortion.

My wife took one misoprostol 200 mcg orally then after 6 hour she took one misoprostol 200 mcg vaginally and after 6 hour she took one mifepristone 200 mg orally and after 6 hour she again took one misoprostol 200 mcg orally and after 6 hour gap she took one misoprostol 200 mcg vaginally. This course was advised by one doctor who attached to a nursing home in kolkata. Now what she can take for better treatment.

This is not the actual dosing pattern of oral abortion medicines. You have already taken enough misoprost tablets. If no abortion occurred, consult a Gynecologist

I visited a gynaecologist a few days ago. She did an ultrasound and was advised that I am 5 weeks pregnant. For abortion she gave me a few tablets and I would like to know if I have been advised the correct way to take these medicines. Day 1, 10 am: 1 mifepristone and 1 misoprostol tablet with water. Day 2, 10 am: 1 misoprostol and another misoprostol tab at 10: 30 am buccally, keeping it under the tongue until it dissolves day 2, 12: 30 pm: 2 more misoprostol tab to be taken orally with water day 3: no medicine day 4: 1 misoprostol tablet after breakfast with water day 5: 1 more misoprostol tablet after breakfast with water. Do I really need to consume so many misoprostol tablets, I have read a couple of places online that 4 misoprostol would work. So I wanted a second opinion on this just to ensure I am not over dosing on misoprostol and that these would’t impact my future pregnancy in any way.

Hello lybrate-user.
Actually for termination of pregnancy standard dose protocol is one mifepristone and 4 tabs of 200 mcg misoprost are required. But it can differ from gynecologist to gynecologist based on their experiences. And taking additional misoprost will not affect future pregnancies. Regarding number of misoprosts, once confirm with your doctor and then take them.

Madam I had an mtp of 6 weeks through misoprost inserted in vagina and now bleeding has stopped and in tvs scan it shows rpoc and I am still having cramps in legs and lower back but no bleeding. Doctor said d and c but is there any way it could be treated without d and c procedure cos I cannot afford for d and c.

Why Methotrexate injection used for abortion with misoprostol tablets. Does this combination will effect on future fertility.

It is mifepristone given with misoprost for termination of pregnancy. Very rarely methotrexate is given but the reasons are specific.
If given it acts for a week or two so it doesn’t have effect on future fertility
