Asked for male, 60 years old from Noida

Very often I get up from sleep and find my arm get numb and then I change positions and after some time it becomes normal. What should I do to correct this. I am a male aged 58 and I take medication for BP, i, e One tab of Cresar 40 mg and one tab of Amloguard daily in the night.

You are middle age person with hypertension on treatment, now you are suffering from erectile dysfunction.in your case before treating your erectile dysfunction, cardiac evaluation in the form of ecg, echo has to be done.

M18, I have stage 2 hypertension, previously took telmisartan 20 mg for one month which showed little improvement (only -10), then the same doctor started telmisartan (20) + chlorthalidone (6.25). Now another doctor (different speciality though) whom I originally had consulted for some other issues gave me telmisartan 40 mg also. Different medication though I did told him about my prior medications. So my question is which one should I continue? Telmisartan at higher dosage than before or telmisartan + chlorthalidone? Or either one is fine?

Both are good choices. My preference is for telmisartan single drug treatment for young person
what other care are you taking for high bp? Tests, diet etc. Maybe take an online consult if you want more details and thorough opinion.

My dad had high pressure attack. His head got spinning. It lasted for around 1hr (the pain in the head but thoda less afterwards, he was sweating thoda. After 2days the weakness still prevails. The pressure that night was 150/86 and now its 140/80. We are suspecting tia but consulted a doc, he listened to it and changed the medicines from cresar 40 (once) and telday trio to cresar 40 and emikind md (twice) and amlovas once after break fast. When we went go the doctor ecg was done. Report showed" sinus rythm, leftward rise. Otherwise normal ecg" since tia is suspected should we go for an ct scan?

Yes it is safe to use these medicines in diabetic. But what is reason for swelling. If not investigated then get her tests done. With these medicines and in elderly keep checking her electrolytes periodically.

I often face with low sodium and swelling in face and formation of water in body. My sodium level is between 124 and 130 and it is not picking up to between 135-150. Is it caused by water deficiency? On stopping hypertension tablets containing hydrochlorothiazide, sodium level rose from 124 to 130. Still I am having the same reading since last three years. What does it indicates?

1.amlodepine, losartan and hctz are antihypertensives. 2.metoprolol is usually added for cardioprotection (there must be an ecg abnormality).
3. Nitroquick is to relieve anginal chest pain.
4. Ejection fraction is slightly on the lower side for a young adult. Can be normal for an old person.
