Sir my 1st dec blood test results hba1c is 5.9.fasting blood sugar 131 ppg 123. Kft normal lft total bilirubin 1.70 bilirubin direct 0.27 and bilirubin indirect 1.43 sgot 29 sgpt 19. Presently on teneligliptin 20 mg, novastat 10 mg, repace 50 .my diabetogist has added udiliv 300 two times for one month and bp is 148/97 in doc chamber in digital meter. So the doctor has added benidipine 8 mg and pio mf 15 half tablet at night. Sir is it good to switch from losartan to benidipine? Please suggest whether I need to add pioz mf in addition to my present medication.

I have seen the details mentioned. As regards your blood glucose control, it is excellent. In such a situation I do not see the need for any additional medication like pioglitazone half tablet twice a day. As regards bp and changing to benidipine it may be in your doctors judgment that drug could be more suitable to you. I really have no say on that. However, I do not see any reason for adding pioglitazone with metformin when you have such a good control. Thanks.

I am a diabetic patient since last 20 years. I am taking medicine a) dianorm-m and vingyle-50 after food, b) storvas-10 once daily, and c) losartan-20 one daily for blood pressure. Since last one month I am suffering from stomach problem (bubbling sound in the stomach after food) and getting burning sensation in the chest. Recently I have done blood test which is reported as follows:- a) glucose postprandial - 175 b) fasting blood sugar - 88 c) haemoglobin a1c [hba1c] - 6.2 d) creatinine - 0.9 e) sodium - 133 f) potassium - 5.8 what is the treatment for stomach problem i.e. Bubbling sound, and burning sensation in chest? Is the potassium level fine or it should be lowered?

Good morning Dr. I am a 43 years old african american woman with a personal hx of htn (i had a seizure last year last year, due to sleep deprivation and stress. My neurologist has me taking keppra 500 mg bid. I haven’t had any additional seizures). I also have a personal hx of high cholesterol and my pcp has me taking the following meds: losartan, carvedilol, folic acid and nifedipine. My question: would I be a good candidate for drinking nettle tea? I am originally from the island national of haiti and often use herbal medicine/ remedies to treat and my previously mentioned conditions. Any feedback that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I of course plan to discuss this with my medical providers before taking it but I wanted to get your professional opinion. Any information that you provide would be greatly appreciated.

I am diabetic since last 20 years with blood sugar near to normal. Having htn. With always in normal level. Howevever as per advise of my Dr. Done tmt. Which reveals positive .as per advice of my cardiologist undergone angiography. My age is 70 years. My angiography reveals unobstructed cad. I walk daily morning about 4 to 5 kms. Pure vegetarian no smoking no alcohol do some yoga pranam and meditation. Pl let my present life style is sufficient to maintain fit. My medication is .ecosprin ab. 75.losartan 20 for diabetic metformin 500 s.r.twice after meals and oglibose .2 two times. My Dr. Advised to continue present life style. Kindly enlighten me with did and don'ts.

Hi. I'm a 37 years old female. I began having high blood sugar in dec 2019. Am taking metformin, losartan, and famotidine. Every morning i'm experiencing stomach cramps with very foul, yellow diarreah. Also extreme thirst. I'm drinking 2-3 gal of water per day & at least 3 qts just overnight. My blood sugars are in a normal range, but I am still thirsty. Also have not menstruated for 63 days. I've done multiple pregnancy tests. All negative. I'm 5'10" tall. Weigh 220. I eat a healthy diet, lots of veggies, protein, low carb, nearly zero sugar. Seldom eat out, no alcohol or cigarettes. Maybe one diet soda a week. I have always been healthy so i'm really struggling now to find answers & my doctor seems at a loss.

These are symptoms of irritable bowl. Metformin may cause these symptoms. I would recommend to reduce dose of metformin to half of what you are taking. Do not take soda based drinks as it worsens irritable bowl. Try to reduce and gradually stop metformin by following strict diet and exercise. Also I would recommend you to check thyroid tests. Also try to avoid wheat/ maida completely for one month from your diet. This may help you. If still you find problems, please consult some other doctor.

I have recently diagnosed with a high blood pressure at this young age I did all necessary test to rule out secondary cause but all test is normal and diagnosis as anxiety, stress due to death of loved one bp is 150/100 or 140/90 in past 3 month I visited many doctors 1) first doctor suggested me losartan 25 mg which did not work for me 2) second Dr. suggests me atenolol 25 mg which works perfect but after 2 months my pulse were in 50s or 60s now 3) third doctor suggested me to switch norvasc 5 mg which I taken and today my bp is 130/85 my mother also used nervous and she get side effects of swollen ankle my question is to dear respected doctor please give me some advice what should now I do im scared of norvasc side effects does it safe for me at this age?

I am a senior citizen female aged 65, weight: 51 kgs (5 ft 2 in). I am having high blood pressure 140/90 to 160/90 last 02 years. Presently under medication of losartan potassium 50 mg twice daily (btd) with hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily for high bp and also thyroxine sodium i.p. 25 mcg for hypothyroidism (tsh 7.90 microlu/ml anti tpo antibody 173.8). Otherwise cbc, lipid profile, liver panel, blood na, k values, fasting & pp bs, serum creatinine are all in normal range. Ecg impression is also quite normal. I occasionally take alprazolam for insomnia disorder (02 tab weekly). I have no other physical ailments or discomfort due to high bp. Kindly advise suitable medicine to normalise the high blood pressure.

For the last 5 years I have been taking the medicine for controlling BP. Every after 3-4 months, I use to meet Doctor for check up. My BP is maintained on in the range of 135-140 by 85-90. Initially high BP was detected in the range of 170 by 95, which has come down and was well maintained. But in the last two visits on April 15 and Sept 15, the BP measured and found 150 by 90 and 170 by 95. I found LTK H, Stamloveta M and Ecosprin was the most suitable combination for myself, since during that period BP was found very consistent. Lastly till Sep 4th, LTK 50 and Crevast 10 had been continuing, but today it has been changed to LTK 50, LTK H and RXor 10 since BP found high today. So I feel the urgency for second opinion / advice online. I never smoke, drink, but eat fish daily, and chicken maximum twice in a month and mutton very rare.

Your bp seems to have controlled earlier group of med. So you neednot change losartan with stamlobeta, if at all needed you take enam 5mg at night it will have good controlling effect.
