They are two different forms of the same Amino Acid, but they work differently. The L-Carnitine helps the body convert fat into energy, so it's typically used by people who are exercising and/or trying to lose weight.

This medicine is a diet supplement Not Approved by FDI of USA, it reacts with lots of medicines used by heart patients like High BP medicines beta blockers & statins to bring down bad fats in blood. Side effects are not known , reason it is not approved but why do people take it as a diet supplement , even I have no idea. My suggestion is take a healthy diet Minus any supplements except routine vitamins in low doses.

Hye.
Ideally supplements are meant to add or supplement your basic diet, when you are either deficient in some nutrient or or your needs are high.
Side effects are there when you try to take a supplement when not needed by the body.
So, assess first whether you need to supplement your diet and your reason should be justified.

It will not help much.
Even if it does it will be only temporary.
And after stopping it lots of side effects.
Better avoid it.
