I had my last period on 19th july n had unprotected sex on 31st july, I took ipill on 1st aug n again I had sex on 9th aug n took unwanted 72 on 10th aug. I was expecting my period n on 14th aug little blood came out as period blood but it stopped on that day itself n after that I was getting white discharge as usual. I waited till 20th aug, my period not started, I took a home pregnancy test twice on 21st aug morning at the same time with two strip n as the result C was marked deeply where T was marked lighter but 2 marks came on both. I went to the nearest pharmacy and bought Mifegest Kit. 21st aug morning at 7: 30 am I took 1 mifepristone tab in empty stomach followed by 2 mifepristone on 22nd mrng same time n another 2 mifepristone on 23rd mrng. Aftr taking mifepristone on 21st mrng, from 21st n8 only bleeding started n after 2 mifepristone on 22nd, heavy bleeding started but from 23rd aug, dat much bleeding z not der. Blood color z brownish n a slippery liquid z mixed. Is there any problem? Pls suggest, my abortion z successful or I vll get more bleeding within a few days.

Pregnancy up to 70dys can be terminated with mife pristone in combination with misoprostol. Misoprostol is taken 48 to 72 hours after the mifepristone dose. Success rate is 97%. Rarely it fails and surgical evacuation is mandatory.

Hi lybrate-user! it can take a few weeks for the urine pregnancy test to become negative. Also, medical termination of pregnancy using mifepristone and misoprostol pills is an unpredictable process and at times might take upto 2-3 weeks to complete. Hence it is recommended that you get an ultrasound done after 2 weeks from the date of pill intake even if your bleeding has stopped to confirm that the process is complete. Hope that helps.

Hi, mifegest kit will not cause any harm if taken when there is no pregnancy. Minor side effects like nausea, vomitting, fever and diarrhoea sometimes.

Hi sir / mam I took mifegest kit. I took mifepristone pill in the morning around 11 AM, I vomited 3 times after 1 hr and I felt dizziness, weakness next morning and after 36 hrs of 1st pill I took 2 misoprostol pills orally and 2 vaginally at night. After 20 mins I had a bleeding for 2- 3 mins and it stopped. I felt pain during bleeding. After that I had diarrhea for next 12 hrs till 12 o'clock. I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER I GOT ABORTED OR NOT? PLEASE HELP ME I AM VERY CONFUSED.

If you have not passed any clots from vagina than you might not have got aborted so I will suggest you to meet your Gynaecologist

My wife is pregnant of 35 days ,we want to terminate the pregnancy so she had taken medical abortion using mifegest kit, she had taken 1 tab of mifepristone (200 mg) and after 24 hr she had taken 2 tab of misoprostol (200 mcg )placed in check which dissolve itself within 30 min. But no bleeding happen and after 12 hr she again take 2 tab of misoprostol (200 mcg) the same way placed in cheeks which dissolve itself but no bleeding will happen. She don't want to go for surgical abortion. Should we repeat the same medical abortion or other medicine she only want abortion through medicine please suggest what to do?

Hi, did any ultrasound was done before taking the tablets? It is better to consult a gynecologist, they will suggest ultrasound to confirm the months of pregnancy.

She has to wait for 2 weeks for the abortion process to happen after which she will need ultrasound examination to find out if the process is complete.
