the policy is to add 2 new drugs if required
consult a specialist in tb since you intend to add only levofloxacin to already effective medication.

I will suggest you to do usg chest and bronchoscopy! tb may be a possibility. But diagnosis is not so easy. When nothing is detected, treatment is based on clinical findings!

Hello,
akt once started needs to be continued for 6 to 9 months.
You could do a liver function test blood test just so as to see if akt has caused any hepatic disfunction which is a known side effect of akt
and make sure she takes the tablets in 10 min interval.
U can try to take the tabelts 2 hour after food if she has been taking it empty stomach.
Hope this helps.

Pulmonologist altered regimen and added levofloxacin because you had liver side effects with pyrazinamide which was stopped
the standard regimen of rifampicin isoniazid ethambutol pyrazinamide is a guideline with exception when necessary
it is not an inviolable dictate
still in doubt consult pulmonologist at nationaltb institute bangalore malleswaram.

There are other optional medicines also with less side effects but for that you will need to consult your physician.
Or you can consult me through Lybrate for homoeopathic treatment. Which is safer and can help a lot in vision ans spine.
