1- december -2020 my son is 8 year old. Complained breathlessness 1.5 month ago. No cough no fever. Used to get breathlessness at rest and increases with excretion. When he takes deep breath his neck muscles tighten and collar bone raises. At rest he used to do this for once in every 1 min and during play he does this for every 10 to 15 secs. Gets fatigue after 5 to 10 mins of play. As soon as he starts laughing, he can’t catch the breath. Brief history: he had developed skin atopic dermatitis 2 months ago, applied to steroid cream for a week based on doctors advise. It subsided slowly, but still has dry skin in the area of wrist. This happened on 1 week of october 2020. Weight 22.7 kg, height 126 cm. He has no history of chronic respiratory symptoms. His growth is normal all along. His heart rate is around 82 to 85 at rest and 110 to 120 while excretion. He lost weight by 1.5 kg. 4-dec went to pediatrician – advised rynosolvin for 5 days. Given rynosolvin for 4 days and stopped symptoms did not come under control, again went to pediatrician – advised clamkid forte antibiotic. Since he did not have any fever or cough we did not put the antibiotic. He was 22.5 and he is now 21. 1 kg 22-dec went to pulmonologist – did chest xray, cbc, 2d echo, pulmonary function test: xray observation by pulmonologist– increased brochovascular markings, but x-ray report said it’s normal. Pulmonary function test also was normal. Also went to pediatric cardiologist 2d echo normal cardiologist said no issues from cardiac side, cbc report was normal with slight increase rbc and absolute lymphocytes, advised pomologist advised to take – montair 5 mg and allegra (steroid) spray (27. 5 mcg/dose)- both once at night. Since 22-dec he is on both these medication. Doctor asked us to stop montair from 11-feb. Meanwhile I also went to ent where she did a nasal endoscopy and found that adenoid is 50% blocking the passage and she also noticed it was reddish. 12-feb currently his symptoms have improved by 70%.doctor asked us to continue allegra (fluticasone) spray for 1 more month. My worry is what if the symptoms returns once we stop allegra (steroid). He has re-gained his weight and is back to 22.9 kg my question is what could the cause of the problem. Is it due to allergic, or adenoid enlargement due to allergy or any other. What is the homeopathic remedy I can begin to address this problem while slowly reduce the steroid spray and eventually stop it. Thanks advance. Really appreciate any advise here.

There is no permanent solution unfortunately. Respiratory disease specialist shall be of your best help. Mast cell stabiliser like cromoglycates nasal spray plus fluticasone nasal spray both twice daily at 30 minutes interval, may be of help for you. It may lessen your frequency of attacks. It may have to be continued for a long time. The doctor seeing you may guide you best.

Get a ct scan of your sinus to check for sinusitis or polyps in the nose. You can try steam inhalation and fluticasone nasal spray. Do not use otivin for more than 5 days at a stretch as it is habit firming and your nose will block more severely if drops are not used.
