I have a dandruff prone scalp its really itchy and oily in summer. My hair fall have increased a lot and now my scalp have become see thru. I have digestive issues. I have been advised to use novale shampoo. But I got to know that there are some side effects of this shampoo. Is it a good shampoo? And I use normally head and shoulder which just dries out my scalp and further increases hair loss and dandruff issue. Can you suggest me any shampoo and supplements?

No shampoo causes further hairloss. It can make your scalp dry but will not cause hairloss. For your hairloss problem kindly consult a dermatologist as they will need to assess the reason behind it and the pattern of hair loss after which you will be given treatment.

Why does it feel like having grains on my scalp?, I use ketoconazole dandruff shampoo to wash my hair once in two days, I oil my hair during night time and I'll wash it the next morning using ketoconazole shampoo. Actually I have a combination scalp with dry hair and overactive scalp I tried many shampoos But still I can't get rid of that grainy stuff on my scalp. Please help.

You may may having either seborrhoeic dermatitis or psoriasis. Use a tar based shampoo regularly till you are able to see a good local dermatologist for correct diagnosis

I am 83 years old army veteran, about 83 years old sikh. Suffering from scalp dandruff (white scales falling while combing, redness of scalp skin, frequent itching, at times resulting in scalp skin injury/slight bleeding for short time) for the last 30 years 9 months treatment at bakson homeopathic clinic (cost rs. 14,000/-) did not help. Army hospital alopathic treatment withpropysalic (clobetasol propionate) lotion, desonide (dosetil) lotion, urea &lactic acid cream, ketoconazole lotion, scalp shampoo, candid tv shampoo, coal tar shampoo (from usa ), heads & shoulders shampoo (used for 4-5 yrs), pnatene shampoo (used for 4-5 yrs) has not helped. Now trying ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione lotion (kz plus lotion), mometasone furoate & terbinafine hydrochloride topical solution. Dandruff has resulted in thinning of hair. Preset suffering from osteoporosis arthritis and taking me ficinies like ca, coq 10, glucosamine chondroitin, bifos e5 (alendronate sodium) etc. I had undergone cabg surgery about 22 years ago and taking presently monotrate 10 mg bd, aspirin 75 mg of bp medicine diltiazem hydrochloride 90 mg tab od. Request advice to get rid of this problem.

try ciclopirox shampoo sir as ketoconazole becomes resistant after some time. u can use steroid lotions but need to taper it slowly

I am suffering from severe dandruff from past 6 years. I had tried many medicine in homeopathy, ketoconazole shampoo and even itraconazole 200 mg but no results are to be found. When I scratch my scalp with knife a thick layer of dandruff comes out. I am really fed-up of consulting doctor which cannot provide a solution to my problem.

I am using Cosalic k solution (ketoconazole and coal Tar solution) and Nizoral shampoo (ketoconazole shampoo) for my dandruff. Alternate days use krne ko kha h dono cheez hafte mein. Toh mjhe ye nhi pta ki solution aur shampoo ek. Hi din use krna h ya fir ek din shampoo aur ek. Din solution. Kyuki agr dono ek. Din use krta hu toh uske baad meri scalp bhttttt jada dry ho jati h. Khichaw sa mehsus hota h. please suggest ki dono ko ek din use krna h ya phle ekdin shampoo fir agle din solution. Fir same repeat krna h kya?

I am recently diagnosed with sebopsorsais only on scalp and taking treatment from last 15 days but no signs of improvement ,I have also started taking homeopathic medicines since last 30 days but no signs of improvement and big flakes are coming from scalp along with 5 to 10 hairs attached every time .I am suffering from this scalp problem since last 3 year and have taken treatment of different dermatologists and initially was diagnosed with severe seborrheic dermatitis along with male pattern alopecia. Took all tropical steroids initially there was relief but later the condition got worsen and now taking treatment as mentioned in top 2 lines. PLEASE HELP.

Use a medicated shampoo containing ketoconazole and coal tar atleast twice a week. Even if the itching decreases you should continue using the shampoo atleast once every 15 days so that it doesnot recur. Once the folliculitis decreases the hair fall will also decrease.
