Usually Clopidogrel is to be taken usually for over 12 months, occasionally it is continued for up tp 18 months. It is better to consult your cardiologist or physician who has prescribed it. Hello lybrate-user. It is the preventive dose. And yes there is always a risk of having side effects like bleeding. But there is more risk of having heart attack and next time it will be fatal. So considering the higher risk it is prescribed. Reading something on internet is good for knowledge but it does not give you right to doubt the judgement of the doctor.
