Can we take tab typlin-c with valium 2 mg tav both at one time to psychiatry patients. Symptoms --patients talking too much, about his past things. Repent his past. Too much, sleep well, age 48 years female, taken divorce from her husband. Anxiety, I must should be adjusted with my husband. Now repent. Staying her mother home, her mother economic conditions are good. Anxiety. Feeling insecure, if any tell me anything wrong, so not come out from his home. Regular taking of tab clozapine 50 & valium 2 mg, at night od dose, she sleep well but talking too much, same things she repeated, her home member getting board. Or in trouble. So please advise.

Now that the third generation partial agonist are ready we want to shift her to cariprazine. To my knowledge Cariprazine is not still available in India for prescriptuon. Studies till now have shown its efficacy in negative symptoms but hallucinations are positive symptoms. Clozapine is effective if other drugs have failed. Till now there is no permanent cure for schizophrenia.

I am taking Sertraline 100 mg 1-0-0 and Mirtaz 15 mg 0-0-1 for mixed Depression-Anxiety and Sizodon plus 0-0-1 and Sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1 for Schizophrenia since 10 years. There is relief. Now, I find it difficult to stand or sit for a long time and hence I have the urge to lay down often. Do anti-psychotic drugs act on the brain and the spinal cord which causes the urge to laid down often? If so, what is the condition called? Is it Irreversible? I am 57 years old, male, having mixed Depression-Anxiety and Schizophrenia since 1987. I have taken innumerous drugs for the above ailments, but right now, I am taking a) Venlor XR 150 mg 1-0-0 B) Mirtaz 15 mg 0-0-1 for depression-anxiety. A) Sizodon plus 0-0-1 B) Sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1 for Schizophrenia and Lithosun 300 mg 0-0-1 as a mood stabilizer. There is relief. But of late (say, since a month), I have a problem. There is numbness in a part of my left wrist (near the thumb area) and it is spreading upwards. What is the problem? Is it due to the drugs I am taking or a neurological one? Please confirm.

There are long term side effects of drugs you use and problem could be neurological as well until excluded. I would suggest to start getting herbal support of brain toners, neurotonics and other herbal memory enhancers. Jatamansi, shankhpushpi, brahmi, calcined pearl etc play a vital role.
Better to avoid otc products and get it prepared through some vaidya or practicing ayurveda doctor.
Practice of pranayam, meditation, yoga postures, walks are very important.

I am 58 years old, male,with depression and Schizophrenia. I am taking Amisulpride 200 mg 0-0-1 and Sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1 for schizophrenia. There is relief. For depression, I am taking Venlor XR 150 mg 1-0-0, mirtazapine 15 mg 0-0-1 along with Depsonil DZ 0-0-1 (This contains 2 mg Diazepam). There is relief. For Tension I am put on Alprazolam 0.25 mg 1-1-1 and Nitrosun 10 mg 0-1-0 for afternoon distress, of course, with the consent of doctor only. My question is I am taking three benzodiazepines viz Diazepam, Alprazolam and Nitrazepam. Can they be combined together or will there be any toxicity? Please confirm.

Hi there ~ the use of benzodiazepines itself and more so the use of a combination of benzodiazepines that are both short and long acting and the fact that you are on as needed doses of these medications indicates that you are at a high risk for benzodiazepine dependence.

Hi Sir, My son is 16 years having mild mental condition and behaviour problem since child. Doctor prescribed Diprate 500 Pysorid plus 3 mg and sizopin tab. Doctor told me to do blood test after one month for TLC random blood sugar AND t3 nd t4 and TSH. TLC was normal blood sugar 96 but t3 t4 was normal BUT TSH was 12. What is the reason for increase in TSH. He is 16 years old.

TSH increase is suggestive of presence of untreated hypothyroidism. He may have been having it earlier too, which has probably gone unrecognised. Now it is necessary to treat the condition, because untreated it can add to mental difficulties too. Thanks.

Hi Sir, Sad to know that the query was mis-interpreted. I took Thioridazine for 10 long years 1987-1997 w/o any side effects & that too at a high dosage viz 200 mg for Schizophrenia. After the advent of newer drugs it was stopped, but took 25 mg 1-1-1 as a tranquilizer for some time and had to be stopped because my psychiatrist felt that it had many side effects. That is several years ago. I have got a curious question now as I wish to re-induct it solely as a tranquilizer, as Fluanxol and Sizopin are already taking care of my illness. Now there is plenty of talk reg this drug, like, it disturbs the heart rhythm, therefore, it is not freely prescribed now. It is supposed to elongate the QT interval and cause tourette de point. If the above side effects are true, confirm whether to start on it or go for something else. Kindly answer this question as early as possible. Thanks.

Ya in some cases It happens. in your case it may or may not be. It can be decided only after start of the medication with regular follow up & check up but be aware in addition to this. add counselling and psychotherapy. Thioridazine cause erectile time prolong so beware of it. Change medication and add psychotherapy so less medication will be required.

I am 59 years old, Schizophrenic since 1987. I was put on various drugs since then and got relief. Of late, I am having hallucinations and delusions and hence am prescribed Trinicalm Plus 1-0-1 and Sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1. There is relief. But Trifluoperazine is causing me mild itching. My Psychiatrist has told me that this drug is also an anti-histamine and hence itching might be due to something else, but to take cetrizine, if only itching persists. I am taking cetrizine 10 mg 1-0-0, since a week and there is no itching. My question is whether to continue cetrizine as long as I am on Trifluoperazine or just stop after taking for a week? Also confirm whether cetrizine has got any side effects or is it habit forming? KIndly be specific in answers.

Hi, I have a health concern about my mother She is 52 and has lost a lot of weight in the last few months. She is also a sugar patient. Her sugar levels are now normal but previously it was about 240. And she is also taking medicines for depression For the past 15 years. The meds are sizopin and nitravet. She also smokes excessively throughout the day. She has been smoking for the past 5 years but never lost weight. Again I would like to tell you even though she has been taking these meds and smoke g she has never lost weight. But her weight has dropped drastically since the past few months. She has always been a healthy lady (as in weight) But now we can see her veins. Please help me what should I do. What kind of tests do we need to run. Do we need to consult the psychiatrist or a nutrition expert or general physician. Please help me.

Uncontrolled sugar can also cause weight loss and also chronic smoking. Also get a chest X-ray (to rule out Tuberculosis and other chest issues) alongwith Ultrasound Abdomen.

I am on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0, trazodone 50 mg 0-0-1 for depression and cizorest 200 mg 0-0-1 and sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1 for schizophrenia. There is a lot of relief from the above drugs for the above conditions. I am put on alprazolam 0.25 1-1-1 for anxiety and panic attacks. This is only a confirmation and as a second opinion. Does alprazolam 0.25 mg 1-1-1 relieve my anxiety and panic attacks? Is it habit forming and will it harm my body in the long run? Please confirm. This question is to a qualified and a competent psychiatrist only. I am ending this paragraph as I have got great trust with your team.

Your medications are well prescribed. Alprazolam does reduce anxiety and panic attacks, and should be taken for a short term only. On a longer run, it is very much habit forming and does cause harm. All the best.
