My father is 80 years old. Having parkinson disease for 3 years. Now on syndopa plus 125 2 times a day along with sizopin 25 mg (half each time thus total 25 mg) and qutan sr 50 mg. Now he is sleeping for almost 20 hours and severely constipated. What should I do?

Consult your doctor about keeping your father on either sizopin or qutan currently, along with syndopa plus.

I am on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0 for depression/anxiety and sizopin 100 mg 0-0-1 for schizophrenia. Sleep is moderate. Hence, I intend to take qutipin 100 mg as a sleeping aid (not self medicated). My question is :- will it give sleep, and I have taken it in the past? Is the dosage sufficient or just 100 mg is enough? Please confirm.

I'm taking Nexito Forte and Skizoril 12.5mg daily for the past 3-4 years. I'm undergoing psychiatric medications for the past 10 years. I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and ADHD. I have also been diagnosed to be suffering from Hypertension and have been prescribed Nebimac 5mg and Telma 40 for the past 6 months. Now my life is back on track and I have a good job in hand. But I feel that my life is going on just because of the medicines and fear for the worst when I stop taking medicines. I have had a talk with my doctor who said the dosage would be reduced gradually. What would you advise regarding this?

I am 58 years old, male, with Schizophrenia since 10 years. At the present moment, I am put on Amisant 200 mg 0-0-1 and Sizopin 100 mg 0-0-1. I intend to replace Amisant with Sizodon plus 0-0-1, because, I have positive symptoms of Schizophrenia, like hallucinations etc, where Amisant is found wanting. I will take this decision only after consulting my psychiatrist, whom I am meeting on Monday next. Kindly remember that I am not taking independent decisions and i am not self-medicating myself. In the mean time, kindly advice whether the combination of Sizodon plus and Sizopin relieve both positive and negative symptoms of Schizophrenia?

Yes it can..see all meds target both positive and negative symptoms..respinse in terms of positive symptoms is better for all of them.Among meds sizopin and amisant are better than others.If you really want to improve negative symptoms you need more than meds and then also some deficits will always remain..Your new combination is fine but remember the combination of amisant and sizopin is among the best for negative symptoms.In the end goal is to take as few meds as possible..

My psychiatrist has put me on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0 for depression/anxiety. There is relief, but there will be dullness in the evenings and it gets carried over to the next morning. I was put on trazolon 50 mg 0-0-1 before, when I was taking venlafaxine. I have a clarification here, let us say, a second opinion and just as for information sake. Ie are nexito and trazolon compatible with each other or are they contraindicated? Also, I am taking amisulpride 200 mg 1-0-1 and sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1 for schizophrenia. Are these drugs viz amisulpride, sizopin and nexito compatible to trazolon 50 mg or are they contraindicated? Please confirm.

Not to worry.
If you feel more sleepy then you can omit tab. Trazodone and continue rest drugs.

I am 57 years old. I am on medications for Depression, Anxiety and Schizophrenia since 1987. Recently, I am on Venlor XR 75 mg and Bupron XL 150 mg once daily for Depression-Anxiety. Amisulpride 200 mg twice daily and Sizopin 25 mg once daily for Schizophrenia. There is relief and am advised to continue the same medications for some more time. My problem is regarding sleep. Sizopin 25 mg gives sleep, alright, but it is disturbing. Since my College days to recent times, there are lot of disappointments. These are surfacing out in dreams and hence, when occurred, whole of day time is spoilt and hence there is no concentration in work and I am always tense and disturbed. Sleep is not refreshing and hangover is persistent. What is the solution for this problem? Will tranquilizers help? Please help.

You are already on these medicines and as you said, your past or child hood unpleasant things are haunting ou and for these you need to control mind and relax by mediation. The past is past and yu cannot correct it by thinking. If you realise this you wil get sleep and no additional medicine is needed. Take care regards.

Hi, my brother has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. The psychiatrists has been adjusting his medication dosages since the beginning. We are currently using clozapine 75 mg and haloperidol 5 mg along with that now doctor has asked us to use bexol 2 mg as well. Also along the years he has gained weight, lost interest in his academics, has been prescribed to cholesterol and bp tablets. With all these medications he still is dizzy, aggressive,doubting everybody, irritated most of the time. Will his condition improve ever? Its been more than 2-3 years now with this medication.

I am diagnosed with having schizophrenia since 20 years. I am on amisulpride and clozapine to counter it with good relief. Having hallucinations, delusions, social and emotional withdrawal and thought disturbances are some of the symptoms of this illness. I am having only thought disturbances in plenty. Am I really have schizophrenia? Please confirm. I am also having depression and anxiety for which I am on venlafaxine with good relief. My question is: is the above mentioned symptom a depression and anxiety or schizophrenia? This is because the symptoms like having day long dullness and thought disturbances are there in abundance. If you have hallucinations, delusions, social and emotional withdrawal and thought disturbances, you should have schizophrenia. Anxiety and depression are part of schizophrenia. Your psychiatrists' diagnosis is final and let his treat you and please work with your psychiatrist for a cure.

Presently I am taking biotin forte (risperidone) half in morning and half at night, clozapine 25 at night, quetiapine 100 at night (just started few days back, ),depranex 10 in morning, and zapiz 0.5 in morning and afternoon. My question is .after starting quetiapine whether it is necessary to take depranex and/or zapiz. If yes what dose should be taken.

A relative of mine diagnosed with psychotic depression with auditory illusions, have been plenty of medications for t he last 3 years. Many previous gen medicines were tried along with ECT of 10 to 15 sessions in 3 time intervals. The person has gained a lot of weight and currently on 375 mg of clozapine 40 mg of zypsidon and Aripropole 10 mg on a daily basis. The problem looked OK for a while but it has returned back now. Request advise.

Thank you very much for taking interest in knowing what your relative is going through. This is a serious mental illness with frequent relapses. So it needs long term treatment to keep the illness under control. For some persons it is life long.
