Skin discolouration is a known side effect of clofazimine. Treating MDRTB is more important than skin colour. Hence continue.

Hello, Clofazamine does produce pigmentation as a side effect due to deposition of the drug. It has a half life of 70 days. So majority of them the pigmentation is reversed on discontinuing the treatment. You can protect your skin with sunscreen now and wait for 3 months after the treatment stopped for it to reverse. If it persist there are creams and lasers available to reduce the skin tone.

Do not worry. It will go away slowly, naturally. No need for expensive sunscreens, just avoid sunlight, use calamine lotion instead of expensive sunscreen and umbrella while going into sun.

Hii,
The pigmentation due to clofazimine takes time to lighten, from 6 months upto 2 years or even more in some patients.

Can understand it is troublesome, but patience is the only answer we have here.
Eat healthy, stay hydrated.

Stay happy & blessed.

The discoloration fades with stopping the drug, but may persist for months or years.
Vit-c./vit. B1/b6/b12 can minimize the pigmentation.
