I'm going to describe both the 3rd generation ELISA test and the 4th generation DUO test for you. The ELISA test looks for antibodies in your blood that your body develops in response to an HIV infection. The window period is the point from first infection until the test can reliably detect antibodies in the blood. For the ELISA test this window period is 4 weeks to 3 months.

The window period of HIV can be from 10 days to 3 months so need to repeat test if done after 93 days
(The window period is time between potential exposure to HIV infection and the point when the test will give an accurate result. During the window period a person can be infected with HIV and be very infectious but still test HIV negative.)

Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details given, as far as I know, there are no studies about the effect of alcohol on antibodies to HIV infection. Basically diabetes makes a person more susceptible to any infection. In case of HIV already bodies immune system is badly compromised. Thanks.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
The time between when a person may have been exposed to hiv and when a test can tell for sure whether they have the virus is called the window period. The window period varies from person to person and depends on the type of test used to detect hiv. Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
