The medications you mentioned are for psychosis, most probably schizophrenia when the duration is 10 years. At times people feel, medications are not helping, always decide based on your subjective experience as well as what people around you feel, when you are on medications and when not on them. If there is a relapse, treating the same will be difficult. If there are side effects from medicines they can be worked upon, by discussing with the psychiatrist, if you have stopped, many disappear in...more

It is irritation of diaphragm and you may have to check up and decide on medication .Various agents have been reported to cure hiccups. Chlorpromazine appears to be the drug of choice. Haloperidol and metoclopramide have been used successfully. Several anticonvulsant agents (eg, phenytoin, valproic acid, and carbamazepine) have effectively treated intractable hiccups in typical anticonvulsant doses

Hi lybrate-user. Is your anxiety, irritation and agitation recent? Or has it been present since a long time?
If recent, it could signal that your disorder is about to get aggravated. It is advisable to report these symptoms to your psychiatrist and seek treatment for the same.
It may be necessary to conduct some blood tests to check for other medical problems.
I wish you a speedy recovery.

My wife, age 27 year undergoing ocd treatment since our marriage about last 3.5 years. She was taking sertraline .we are not planning for baby for this medication, thought once medication stops or reduced we will plan for a child. In the mean time I change my job and move to new city. We approach a new doctor, we explain all things to doctor, doctors advice’s to postpone our child planning for few months, and doctor wants result and wants to change medicine, prescribed flunil 40, clonil 25, rospitril 0.5. Last 20 days she was taking this medicine. Now problem is she missed her period and we check for pregnancy and found positive. Consult gynecologist, and gynecologist said it has been 34 days she pregnant. Please suggest what to do now, should we continue pregnancy? Or abort it and continue medication? As the medicines are not safe for pregnancy and it is going to our first child, I do not want to take any risk.

Hi, data on use of these medications in pregnancy is limited but studies have not found an increased risk of malformations in the baby with their (fluoxetine, chlorpromazine and risperidone) use in pregnancy. A detailed scan to look at the baby’s body parts should be performed between 18-20 weeks of pregnancy. The medicines should be switched to single instead of multiple if possible after review by the psychiatrist. Also, the baby needs to be observed after birth as it may show withdrawl symp...more

If it is maximum dose and adequate duration, you will be given add-ons of intractable depression. There are many more that will be added to your antidepressant. Any therapy if added, most of the psycho social problems of depression can be resolved. Your quality of life will improve in...more
