There are a couple of things you need to do to avoid this thing to happen from your end, avoid everything that causes you problem, could be dust, cold water, juices, sugary foods, some food items, ice creams, sour foods etc, avoid prolonged ac exposure, and use mask wherever possible and yes you do need a course of anti-allergic for a short time, which obviously will hold your problem for few months hopefully.
