For infants you don't use syrups but oral drops formulations of same medicine. Ask your paediatrician for the exact dose which depends upon the baby's weight.

There are a couple of things you need to do to avoid this thing to happen from your end, avoid everything that causes you problem, could be dust, cold water, juices, sugary foods, some food items, ice creams, sour foods etc, avoid prolonged ac exposure, and use mask wherever possible and yes you do need a course of anti-allergic for a short time, which obviously will hold your problem for few months hopefully. You should not use dettol or cetrizine without proper consultation. Check for any skin rash or any sign of skin disease.
If there is nothing like that you may give hepatoprotective syrup.

Yes you can take. There is no side effect like weight loss. Preferably take at bed time as it can cause drowsiness.

Cetirizine is good for allergic itching. But in 80 year old , the skin dryness can be a reason and apply coconut oil all over and do not wash with soap.

If it is an allergic rash than cetrizine should work and I will suggest you to buy a strip of tablet cetcip and just give half tablet for now after crushing it and mixing it with water and if rashes doesn’t reduce within six hours than we should go steroid therapy along with a blood test.
