My son has sinus, now he has this condition since childhood, he is now 21 years, he had developed cold on his trip to myanmar and is suffering from same since 5th dec 2015, yes he is careless, I had shown him to my family doctors but nothing much happened, so have shown him to ent on their recommendation as the condition has not improved much even after having antibiotics, he had gudcef, macpod, ambrodil syrup (simple one) given by family docs. Now I have shown him to ent the ent has given him med mahcef xl 200, recofast plus, tab betnelan and nosikind nasal spray, steam inhalation as many times as he can and then nosiking spray as many times as he can. His nose is completely blocked and because he is mouth breathing his throat is also dry, as per him whatever he is eating the taste comes in the nose, I am quite worried as this has been going on for last 4 months. I do want opinions. I have been out of station for a while and not very sure weather the medicines given by family docs who are md medicine have been taken by him or not, but the medicines given by ent yesterday I am personally monitoring it. He has just now taken only 2 doses. He drinks and smokes also. Please advise. I am in delhi dwarka, shall I continue with the same doc and medicines. xray have also been done. Doc says it is major sinus.

My daughter is almost 20 months old and have been running with high fever for 2 to 3 days.. Fever being 102 to 103 degrees. Have consulted a doc here in Mumbai but medicines don't seem to work. Her fever returns post few hours of dosage. She has vomited too esp post taking medicines in her anger since she didn't want to take medicines and we had pushed it down her throat. We aren't sure of the height exactly but doc mentioned she is fine with respect to height, age and weight. Medicines prescribed - 5 ML Macpod 50 twice a day for 6 days and 3.75 ML meftal P thrice a day till fever exists. This wasn't working so we again checked with the doc and he suggested to give 6 ML Crocin instead of meftal. She falls sick every 3 odd months with fever and get running nose too. We are really worried and thinking of getting blood and urine tests done. Pls suggest.

Yes if there are frequent infection like this then you must get cbc blood culture urine r/m and basic abdominal sonography shall be done. However these kids in infancy or around infancy do develop frequent seasonal infection specially flu like illness what is evident from history given by you as well. So preferably your child should get regular flu vaccine. After child is without fever for at least few days. I can understand worry would be highest peak for you. But don't worry things are going t...more

No it cannot be. It is not for that.
Better Consult and take proper treatment.
Don't experiment with the baby.

It is not because of any infection... instead will increase the tendency as it disturbs the intestinal flora.

Try taking homoeopathic medicine as it can not only remove the tendency but improves the general bealth.

Dear Ms. lybrate-user,
I suppose you had your daughter tested for covid 19 and therefore you have her in isolation. If she has recovered from her symptoms and she has been in isolation for more than 14 days, she can stop being in further isolation. Loss of sense of smell will remain for quite some time and will resolve on its own, so she does not further need isolation because of it. Although there is no need for any medication for loss of smell, if you are interested any vitamin b-complex m...more
